Lots of clubs and counties will be looking for Mickey to take their team. Wouldn't write him off yet hughieferm (Fermanagh) - Posts: 14 - 10/07/2024 16:21:24 2558238 Link 1 |
I don't have a problem with people being against Gallagher coming back but what I do have a problem with is that they aren't consistent with their idea that only respectable law abiding men should be involved in GAA. PattyONeill (Derry) - Posts: 248 - 10/07/2024 17:05:00 2558248 Link 1 |

No better man for the job either, BBC thank God are covering the semi finals, never thought I'd be saying that, RTE coverage is painful to watch and listen to. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3051 - 10/07/2024 22:10:48 2558284 Link 2 |

They should invite Joe Brolly on too so he and Mickey can clear the air....on air. That would be a good watch.

Mickey Harte s record speaks for itself .He has managed Tyrone to All Irelands in minor u21 and senior.Tyrone never won a senior All Ireland beforre Mickey appeared. He also did fantastic work with Louth making them a much better team and getting them promoted a couple of times.Yes Derry s championship year was disappointing but they won the league which is a brilliant competion. The league final was a really brilliant game.I for one think I will see Mickey Harte back on a county sideline very soon and good luck to him. I agree Mick…. Do you think his original appointment was not a bit strange knowing the rivalry between Derry and Tyrone…? Really he was brought in to win the All Ireland and anything else would be viewed as a failure… I think he showed poor judgement in accepting the position unless the pay was too good to turn down… I believe your reputation should always come before any monetary interest… he surely knew the serious pressure involved in a win or bust scenario…he most probably regrets taking the job….He might now take a break from the game and recharge his batteries.. His standing as one of the games greatest managers is slightly tarnished by his Derry stint but only slightly…. A truly great manager..!

Oh I do think the Derry appointment was strange and also he did leabr Louth in the lurch unfairly but the carrot was probably too big to turn down.At the start of the year I saw Derry as one of the main contenders for Sam as did many.I dont know what hapoened between Mickey and Derry but obviously all was not well but as Ive stated already winning the league was a big achievement.

I'd say we'll get the inside story on what went on with Derry this year in a book sometime, it just didn't work out there for Mickey, I think they put too much focus on the league, Jim shook them with that defeat in Celtic park, they staggered on after it but never recovered, surprised Derry knocked Mayo out but there was some punch left in them. Very interesting to see what way Derry go now, maybe Malachy O'Rourke is the man to get them back on track. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3051 - 12/07/2024 14:34:09 2558573 Link 2 |
Some word that Derry are considering reappointing Rory Gallagher as manager but if that happens the Derry CB will have lost all credibility and respect.. ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3076 - 13/07/2024 07:09:42 2558652 Link 1 |
Isn't Malachy a Fermanagh man….Brolly won't be happy. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11419 - 13/07/2024 09:08:15 2558658 Link 1 |
Brolly's not happy unless he's making fun of Aidan O Shea, Sean Cavanagh, Mickey Harte, Colm Cooper, the list goes on. All men who have gave more than him to the game. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 2157 - 13/07/2024 12:04:56 2558672 Link 8 |
Gallagher has been cleared several times, have some courage and post alternative opinions

Would they take him.??? Jack wont be there next year imo after this. It would be some craic Mickey in charge of the Kerrymen next season. Money wouldnt be an object anyway, that is for sure. 1 last big pay day for Mickey.... ;o) Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4027 - 13/07/2024 21:27:10 2558820 Link 0 |
