Mickey Harte - Where To Next.?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With Mickey Harte gone from Derry, where to next for him.?

I know an Ulster and an All Ireland were the end goals for this season perhaps, but he did win a Division 1 League Title this year with Derry, so it wasnt a totally unsuccessful season in charge.

I am sure there will be at least a couple of counties interested in his services.

But which is the better option for him now.?

I can see him getting offers from Counties such as Cavan, Fermanagh & Meath.

Tyrone. You can't keep a good man down and that Tyrone team of 21 was his.

I don't really care where he goes I'm just glad to see the back of him...
I'm more interested in what the Derry County board are going to do next now that he is gone and I have no problem with an RG reappointment...

Agreed, I could see any county with a wealthy donor could make a swoop. Maybe Leitrim will tap up their NYC connections!

I'd hope all those counties would have a bit of respect for their current managers to not make offers. It might be time for Mickey to call it a day and enjoy his retirement.

Not with a barge pole would Micky Harte touch these 3 teams.

Whatever about where Mickey might go, is it time now perhaps for a certain Mr Brolly to step in and let us see how it should be done? God knows he dished out plenty of "advice" and criticism to the outgoing team.

I would say his day is done. I can't see him returning to a county set up. He might take a club job

I don't think Kildare fans would see him as a good fit. We've learned a hard lesson with our own legends. Big names no guarantee of success especially if they can't adapt to the modern game.
Having said that, it's a nice easy option for our county board and they love easy options!!

He still has something though. He def turned Louth into a much better team and as Fionn said he won the league with Derry and the league is a hard competition to win.A few counties would be very happy to get him and I think he will manage inter county again.Probably Tyrone but who knows!

I wouldn't mind Micky or Malachy O Rourke in Tyrone. Derry were never good enough to win an All Ireland they headhunted Micky and then hung him after a year.

I don't see it as I can't see the sponsors going for it. It was them that helped push the Derry board last year into action. Its Malachy O'Rourke's if he wants it.

Would there be no interest in the Kingdom Mick. After Jack fails to deliver yet another AI surely he'll step down a year early?
