I think he was 17 when he made his debut v Clare. Will be 29 this year. Need a big performance from him Saturday

Just on Mac looking at him last week I think he looks to have slimmed down compared to other years

Your right it was a few weeks before his 18th birthday, played minor & u21 that year. Alot of lads need to up it from last Saturday.

Slowed down or slimmed down ? His chasing back at the very end would suggest the first option.

That's correct. He'd gone on a scoring spree for minors against Kilkenny a few weeks before. Came on as a sub in thurles against Clare and scored almost immediately. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3586 - 02/05/2024 13:46:46 2542461 Link 0 |
He's always been pretty slow to be fair. That's not his game

He wasn't ever a greyhound but he used to move around more to get on ball.

I reckon Davy got the best out of him on the 40. He's one of the more accurate players we have and he has more space there. He's goal threat used to be huge but he's never in a 3 man line now so defenders are wise to him. On another note, the amount of rain falling now will do nothing for the pitch. It's been drowned all year. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3586 - 02/05/2024 14:24:28 2542473 Link 0 |
I don't expect Rossiter to do this but I feel like we need to freshen things up and make changes to get a reaction. If we can't beat Antrim that should tell us enough! Assuming almost everyone is fit I'd go with: the_post (USA) - Posts: 186 - 02/05/2024 14:32:18 2542475 Link 0 |
Think you are being harsh, until Chin came on that day Mac was by far our best forward and got the better of Daithi Burke. We were poor that day from memory, fortunate draw. I thought we were dreadful last year in that non event in Salthill but Galway are no world beaters. Inter county careers on the line for many of the players, I do think we will get a performance out of them. Timbertony (Wexford) - Posts: 404 - 02/05/2024 14:35:13 2542477 Link 0 |
Hate sounding dramatic but there's players legacy's on the line the next few weeks if they don't get there act together.

We were poor ok until Chin came on. Mac won a penalty but only scored 2 points before then. He's a good player, but could have been one of the best.

I agree some of the older lads know they havent opportunities left in a Wexford jersey. We have to come out fighting on Saturday

Why would you not start Jippo if fully fit? Playing Jacko at wing back I wouldnt do that only remember him playing once there think possibly against Clare last year and he was very poor. He needs to start wing or centre forward and hes another we need a big game out of

It has held up very well this year considering the weather, the work they did on the pitch 2 years ago seems to have made a big difference, only day I seen cut up was vs Clare in the league after a game also had being played there on the Saturday.

Think the minor game should be on at the earliest 1.45 . Throw in at 1.30 means there will be over an hour to wait for the senior game which seems silly to me.

We haven't enough changing room space.

Apparently its to do with the small dressing rooms, Galway and Wexford seniors get 2 each I think, there's a reason their been renovated later in the year and the last senior double header was in 2019.

Should be all sorted once the extension is done

Thats strange too . You would imagine the seniors will be in the dressing rooms when the minors are coming off the field. Hopefully its a better day weather wise than today!
