O'Connor does seem to have a chip on his shoulder. Seems that he wants to influence refs and pressurize them.

great performance but i would air on the side of caution with Tyrone. Very unpredictable. Conceding a massive about of goals which will catch up to them eventually. And the goals they are conceding are poor - so easy for opponents to walk though them. Monaghan will be a real relegation battle game, a lot on the line. It could come down to last match v Armagh with winners staying up. You'd need two refs on the field for that one. Even if Kerry had have won on Sunday it was the way the team played as a team that was most pleasing. Nothing stupid, stay out of trouble and walk away when there are fouls against Tyrone and they'll beat most teams. Twice on Sunday the ball was moved into a more scoreable position for backchat.

Yes, I remember those days too. But despite the novelty pairings, was the system fair - a smell of the Proposal B/Team 6 issue about it?

I like the hierarchical divisions too - but maybe I'd prefer 12/12/8 with positions deciding which AIC Tier they'd enter. Say, Div 1 top 6 to AIC Tier 1 KO; Div 2 top 6 & Div 1 bottom 6 to AIC Tier 2 KO; and Div 3 top 4 & Div 2 bottom 6 to AIC Tier 3 KO. I'd still fancy them this year if they can get all the main men on the field and on form. Main memory of last year was how puzzled Dooher and Logan looked on sideline when it was all falling apart. They genuinely seemed not to know what was going wrong.

Disappointing match, Was hoping for a bit of an old style meeting but it was like a challenge game. Played in almost total silence for last 20 minutes. Meath are in decline, hindsight is 20/20 as they say and mcentee probably had us punching above our weight. Looking forward Meath are in a terrible state. We have the all ire minors coming through in a couple years but if the current management doesn't get with modern day football we won't do anything

I couldn't disagree with any of that, but I'd like to get your thoughts on why this is the case? Meath and Kildare are punching so far below their weight, it's almost embarrassing. I'm not trying to stick the boot in, I'd like to see both of them competitive again. We heard for years that it was because Dublin were so far ahead, but I never bought that as they even struggled to make any impression in the league, while much smaller counties like Monaghan and Roscommon have been much more competitive. Now Dublin are firmly back in the pack for a couple of years, yet Meath and Kildare actually seem to be getting worse. Looking at both counties, they seem to have all the ingredients.
