The worrying thing from everyone else's perspective is that this is arguably Limericks best panel - for me it comfortably is. He has blooded more players than he has ever done since his first year this year I'd say and most of them already look physically up to it. A freak result is all that beats Lim this year. They've proven last year they can beat anyone without two top players so injuries are unlikely to derail them. I would have always said Hannon and Lynch are by far your most important players but I'd say maybe Quaid is now given his understudy wouldn't have played championship. The rest can be replaced and not be hugely missed."
I agree with u on Quaid he'd leave a massive hole if he got injured. I think Gillane is the second, he wins so much possession for us and is always an out ball and just creates more space for everyone else as well as scoring from play and taking the frees.
Tipp motoring along nicely themselves under the radar, clinical scoring and playing with a bit of edge and niggle. They upset Waterford last night as well as out scoring them

Yes indeed. As Sheedy hinted last night they are going to win all before them this year.

It must have been nice for Limerick to finally get a bit of a challenge from a team wearing maroon!

They bullied Waterford is the correct description. Who's to blame for that ? Waterford. It happens all the time and then they get sent off for retaliation. Like a neutral said leaving the grounds Waterford need to get a few thugs like Breen on that team.

J Power; F O'Connor, D Morrissey, B Nash; D Byrnes, R Connolly, C Coughlan; B Murphy, W O Donoghue; G Hegarty, C O'Neill, C Boylan; D Ó Dálaigh, S Flanagan, P Casey.
Subs: D McCarthy, C Barry, M Casey, R English, A Gillane, M Houlihan, C Lynch, A O'Connor, D O'Donovan, O O'Reilly, M Quinlan.

That was the Limerick squad versus Westmeath.

Add to those 26, the following 11:
Nicky Quaid, Sean Finn, Declan Hannon, Aaron Costello, Kyle Hayes, David Reidy, Tom Morrissey, Graeme Mulcahy, Adam English, Shayne O'Brien, and Jimmy Quilty,
and you have a 37-man squad.

It seems that Limerick is going with 37 again this year and not 36 as in years pre-2022. And three keepers again. Am I missing anyone or count anyone twice?

Adam English came on as a sub in Mullingar

Not according to the Press:

Subs: D O'Donovan for Murphy (blood, 31 to 39), M Casey for D Morrissey (52), O O'Reilly for Ó Dálaigh (52), M Quinlan for Byrnes (56), A Gillane for Flanagan (63), A O'Connor for T Morrissey (69).

And very unlikely when he was named in the match day 26.

Ah these yellow helmets have me fooled. I saw Oisin OReilly warming up at half time alright. Just presumed it was young English coming on.
Very impressive show from ODalaigh. Thought he was handy last year with the u20s but his shooting was a bit wayward. Seems to have improved on that side of things. I think he had 2 poorish wides at the start of the match butb kept plugging away and ended with 5 well taken points. Definitely looks a prospect now

What are we thinking on team selection for Sunday? I'd be expecting a few more of starting 15 to be involved..Sean Finn, diarmaid,Declan, will o Donahue, cian and gillane to be definitely playing..it looks like Wexford will be down a few established players which could leave them struggling..a semi v Tipp would be ideal prep for first round v Waterford..

I'd imagine English and O'brien will be rested for u20 next Wednesday night and we start to see a few more regulars back. A win on Sunday and a match against a hungry aggressive Tipp the following week would be ideal prep for championship, win or lose that match.

Took Limerick a long time to learn this skill\cuteness, always remember the treatment a young corner back got in the AI final against KK in 2007, Brian Geary blew one of the KK guys out of it and was immediately booked. When the say play on the edge it's exactly right and to know just how far you can push things and stay on the right side of the ref is a skill in itself and a necessary one if you are going to win an all Ireland. It's a high risk game sometimes and a bit of luck can also be required.

JK will have another very difficult job selecting 26 for each match day panel. Injuries aside we have the usual 15 plus.

McCarthy /Power
Ritchie
David Reidy
Cathal O'Neil
Barry Murphy
Conor Boylan
Oisin O'Reilly
Ronan Connolly
Colin Coughlan
Micheal Houlihan
Adam English
Shane O'Brien
Aidan O'Connor
Fergal O'Connor
Donnacha O'Dalaigh

Can someone finish the 36/37 for me?

Already posted last week:

Limerick v Tipperary in the league semi final in the Gaelic grounds next Saturday night will draw a big crowd . Be a good opportunity for either side to put down a marker for championship. Limerick look to be in a good place and there's no reason why limerick can't do what the great Kilkenny teams used do in winning the league before a successful championship run . Might not be the be all and end all but can't beat winning .

Team I'd like to see Saturday

Quaid

Casey Dan Nash
Byrnes Hannon Coughlin
DoD WoD
Hego Lynch Tom
Casey Gillane O Dalaigh

Finn
Hayes
Flanagan
O Brien
English

All those subs to come in.

I think kiely knows Finn and Hayes are guaranteed starters. Mike looks to me like he could lose out to Dan at 3 so Mike can cover 2 3 4 all year when needed and probably will be needed. Coughlin seems to be first back up in HB line bar Dan so needs exposure in a big game like this. DoD and WoD need to have a game together similarly the HF line. Flanagan has started every game so no harm mixing up the FF line and give o Dalaigh the start and see how he goes. Hes been impresive so far. Gillane and Casey need game time. I'd like to see Adam English get 25 mins around the middle 3rd and Shane o brien come on for 25 inside . They'll have had the u20s match this week so 25 mins sounds right to me. Others that might see mins could be Murphy, Houlihan, Fergal o connor, Aidan o Connor.

Looking forward to the game.

Congratulations to the minors on a good win in absolutely appalling conditions..I would question the decision to let that game take place..surely a decision on a postponement could have been made at 12 mid day..health and safety of players should be the first thing considered..ive seen pictures and some live footage from dungarvan and I'd question the playing of the match..also all these players from limerick would have needed a half day from school..can I ask why is it not possible to play these matches at weekend??be interesting to see if dungarvan is playable for under 20 match on Wednesday..
