Back to 2021 levels of discipline, in fairness that was embarrassing from the Waterford backroom member too.

No, but it did not look good. Cant see see him back for friday night. Serious loss, although they put up a fighting second half.

Think today proved that when everything isn't right we can be caught..the loss of Declan can't be underestimated, his coolness was missed..so many fellas didn't do themselves justice and I'd hope next Saturday will put that to bed..I expect Flanagan to miss the game as he was very lucky not to get a red and I feel gas will hand him a one match ban.think kiely has an interesting selection, does he go with almost the same team or does he give one or two the start.thought mike Casey did very well when brought in..plenty for kiely to beat all the players with after today..

Two points earned, so main job done. Lots to work on. Perhaps after going into such a big lead so early that Limerick got lulled into a false sense of thinking that the game was going to be handy enough. That does happen in sport. Then when the opposition makes a comeback and hits a few body blows it can be difficult to drag yourself out of that lull. It's better to get such a wake-up call first day out.

But the thing is, you guys had Hego get a red, missed a penno and still pulled through. Its unlikely to think that Limerick will play this poor by there standards again this year. Waterford had a great opportunity but Limerick still ground it out. The hallmark of champions.

Just be thankful you don't attract Tyrone levels of media scrutiny. If a similar schemozzle had started at a Tyrone game, it'd have made the front pages

A 2 point margin of victory for Limerick shows that talk of Limerick been so far ahead etc is not true. If waterford had converted more of their chances theyd have won yesterday. Limereick had everyone available and fell over the line.
Next Saturday night in Limerick will be an interesting affair, Clare after defeat yesterday will have to give it a right lash similar to last years game in Ennis, Limerick will need to improve from yesterday and down Declan Hannon as well.

Yesterday's sending off is first Limerick man rightly sent off in championship match since 2018, some record to be proud of.

I am not a bit surprised it was a close game yesterday, Ever since 2012 when many of yesterdays players were minors LK/WD games have been close affairs. Waterford may have have only two All Irelands, but they are famed championship battlers and for example have been beaten Galway, a huge hurling county, in eleven our of Twelve meetings. All this old nonsense about six in a row was pure rubbish anyway. Again we were showed yesterday that Munster is an absolute bear pit where as Leinster is a canter in that KK, GY and WX will come out of the the Province nine out of every ten years, except for a massive spate of injuries, which just might derail Wexford this year, although the the Antrim/Dublin may just work in their favour.

I think what updwell was referring to was Red cards which were not overturned.

What I was referring too was the straight reds Limerick should have got in 2020&21 championships that the poster ignored, we saw none of that last year which puts this playing to the edge myth in the bin, ye still won the AI despite no Lynch or Peter Casey.

Munster is shaping up to be a bear pit this year, although it's the first time in the Round Robin era. Leinster has come down to scoring difference every year in the Round Robins except the 1st year.

We could effectively be out of Championship after 1 week { I know all the permutations and all that } then no intercounty Hurling again until early following year.

A lot has been done it seems for the club hurler who was badly discriminated before but the timing of League will have to be sorted to give proper time for championship to be started.

Winning League is great but Mayo won it and were out of Connacht championship not a real bother to them I suppose as they must have nearly 50 Connacht titles even Limerick were not at full flow yesterday after winning the League.

I think getting rid of League semis and finals would help. Call me old fashioned but shouldn't a team that finishes top of a League table win that League? In any sport?
