Replying To Pikeman96:  "Good post. Am a club official myself, and I see there was a survey sent out to clubs by Co. Board yesterday as part of the football review. They're asking clubs not only to suggest what more can be done at county level to promote and develop football, but also to think about what the clubs can do themselves.

While it's a fact that some clubs will always have a preference for hurling (just as others will always have a preference for football), it's also a fact that just about all clubs, including those with a preference for football, could do more too."
Underage mentors with good top level playing experience would be in short supply in alot of clubs in both hurling and football. While I know top players don't neccessarily make top coaches they would have more experience of better coaching and management teams themselves, even down to basic stuff like preparation for games, better drills etc.

Yeah, that might be worth considering . Sorry I, like others thought you meant as a player.
OGara, with his vast experience could help out as a forward coach. The man has 7 all Ireland medals in his back pocket.granted not a regular inclusion for the Dubs but it might work in our favour.
Anybody with that knowledge and experience should be asked to come on board. What do we have to lose? Or maybe he has no interest

Reading in the paper that the backroom team hasn't been finalised

Apparently agreement hasn't been finalised yet with one person (don't know who) who's being lined up as part of the backroom team, and they're holding off on making any announcement until absolutely everything is in place.

home v laois, nice one for new manager, i know we will be underdogs but its a chance to get a first round win 3 years in a row, wonder did we ever win the first round of the championship 3 years in a row?

Are we definitely at home?I think the last time we played Laois in championship was the game in 2018 which went to extra time, I presumed the arrangement is home and away. On your question I think we played 5 Leinster semi finals or final in
a row from 2004-08 so would have won 1st round game all those years and did the same 2011-14.

Interesting to see how it works if Deely is still based in London.

We were knocked out on May 22, 5 months from Saturday, wonder if it's something to do with that. I know previously your return date depended on when you were knocked out of championship, might be different now.
