Replying To Paull:  "I hope that we are on the right track as much as some of ye think. The bare facts are that we won 3 games out of a possible 7 where we had home advantage for 4 of those.
Before the League started that would have been seem as a disastrous campaign.
Only Saying!!"
Yeah you make a valid point but I think to be fair the building blocks are there and we have to start somewhere.

Genuinely through a combination of a lack of belief and bad luck we should have 2 more wins on the board, with that we are in a different world altogether.

The belief takes time, I do believe we are on the right track.

As usual you can't make a comment here without fear of the usual suspects making it personal.
And I have been to all 4 home games so I definitely have a right to that opinion.
And finally I have been told I am a very funny guy and a joy to live it albeit by my Mother..

I thought a good league would be top half. I really didn't think we'd be promoted with the players gone or injured. This was a step forward after the last few seasons. You must've been hard on the sauce or unaware of who were likely to be missing for some or all of the League if you were expecting more than the lads achieved this year.

Did you go to many games last year?

Think overall in 5 of the 7 games performance was at a decent level, London and Sligo were the 2 games where we'd really be disappointed, looks like we've improved from last year, I'd make us underdogs vs Laois in Leinster but think we've a chance.

Paul you can't say anything negative about the football team you should know that.

Bottom line, still in division 4 and I was at 6/7 games. Mixed view on what's going on as Division 4 was very poor this year except for Sligo compared to Tipp and Cavan(now division 2) been in the Division last year.
Championship in two weeks v a team one place above in Division 4 and that will be tell if the management/players have progressed as a group, as they had great battles last year with Offaly in Leinster(won) and TC (lost by pt) who could be Division 2 by end of day. So come on lads and repect everyone's opinion as Paul and Hunting have a point.

Not saying anything negative about their opinions. But what were they expecting? We lost to Waterford more often than we won in recent years. Rome wasn't built in a day.

One concern heading into championship is that we appear to concede too many scoreable chances, and ship too many scores inside, every day.

Beirne hit 0-7 from play for Leitrim (albeit a top quality scorer playing in Div 4)

Darcy hit 1-6 from placed balls for Wicklow

O'Carroll 1-2 for Laois, and 0-8 of their tally came from frees.

Carrabine's 0-7 against us not too bad as only two came from play

Seven of London's scores came from frees in a drawn game.

Seven frees conceded again yesterday, but Dunphy and their other corner forward had joy at times as well.

Fine margins when it comes to chasing promotion.

However, I don't fear Laois. They were favourites for promotion and fell short, and I'd harbour doubts over their manager. O'Moore Park is a tough place to go to (and I have mixed memories of the venue) but give them a lash and we will cause them problems.

Ironically had we won those two games we drew we still would not have been promoted as it would have been a head to head with Laois.
This year unlike others we proved we are contenders for promotion but perhaps not ready for promotion yet. Wicklow will struggle to stay up I think. Tipp are coming straight back down. Being promoted then coming straight back down would be worse.

Seen the u20 team named for tonight on social media, I'm guessing its backboned by the Gorey Community College All Ireland team from last year with the representation from that part of the county, as per normal in Wexford looks like there short a talented few players to the u20 hurling panel too.

I see the Wexford U20 team is named again with no changes to the starting team from Kildare match.
I assume this is just a dummy team as am I right in thinking that if anyone plays tonight they cannot play v Laois at the weekend?

I know Conor Murphy who started for the u20 hurlers against Cork a few weeks ago was on the u20 football panel last year. Not sure about anyone else.

Minor team named nice spread of clubs represented. And an Alley man as joint captain. Good luck to them all!

Darby Purcell and Eoin Whelan started for the minor footballers at midfield and centre forward 2 years ago while Cian Byrne who has always focused on hurling at intercounty has shown with Fethard that he is also a very good footballer.

Luke Murphy and Corey Byrne Dunbar were always good all rounders up the age groups too, both good footballers and played underage soccer out in Ferrycarrig.

Cian Byrne is an excellent footballer. Kyle Firman played underage intercounty football too.
