The American electoral system is unique, compared to those European systems, where the party with the biggest share of votes is elected. The electoral college system in US Presidential elections means the candidate with the largest electoral popular vote, may not be elected, unless they win a majority of the electoral college. It should be changed to a system which rewards the candidate with the largest share of the popular vote. There are two main parties, no third party candidate is elected. If Joe Biden was still the Democratic candidate, Trump would win by a landslide. It genuinely scares me that this is a close US Presidential race. The fact that close to half of a population of the world's largest democracy can watch Trump's performance the other night and still vote for him blows my mind. Whatever your thoughts on Harris, Trump is quite clearly unhinged. Let's be honest, if someone was talking like that to you in a pub you would be taking the keys off them. This guy has a 50:50 chance of being the most powerful man in the free world. It has to come down to the fact that social media has brainwashed people beyond repair. People simply can't believe the evidence of their own eyes anymore. Immigrants eating cats and dogs, babies aborted after birth, only accepting the election result if he wins etc. etc. Then when corrected, Trump and his supporters reckon it is a 3 on 1 debate. Sharing false videos online to try and show their man was correct with these absurd conspiracy theories. Stupidity is also a disease that can cross the Atlantic and considering the rise of far right populist candidates in this country, I genuinely fear that we could follow suit over the next few years. If so, I fear for the country my kids will grow up in. It's imperative that Trump gets beat in November and it's even more imperative that the GOP dumps Trump and his cronies and moves back to the real conservative values they have tried championing for years. I see one of the billionaires in America travelled to space for a second time..there is so much wrong in the world today and then I hear this..surely this individual could find some very worthwhile projects to put this money into..now before people come back I heard someone say he's involved in some charity of sorts..to me this is a complete waste of time and I know for one I'll never get there or be able to afford it..am I missing something in all this? How do you know the individual doesn't pump their money into a lot of worthwhile projects also. The cost of this is probably the equivalent of a night out in a restaurant for the rest of us plebs.
