It's hardly fair to say they were never going to win playing like that, they had the only goal chance of the game, flew narrowly wide, missed a couple of chances in 2nd half, TJ's late point put the gloss on scoreboard but Loman's supporters and management were living nervously in last ten mins. C/K put themselves in contention to win championship and very nearly achieved their goal. They don't have a target man like John Heslin so restricted in how they play.

I see a lot been critical of Kinnegad when in fact I don't think kinnegad done a whole lot wrong they had a game plan followed it and came up short but on the other hand I think the quality of st lomans was shown even more , they showed they can beat some huge teams with whichever style of play is needed , there renowned for there fast flowing ball moving attacking football , while also showed there steal metal and quality playing a possession based game , I fancy st lomans to go well in Leinster and also I think paddy dowdall has shown he's a man destined for the top in the managerial side of things , Kinnegad aren't going anywhere anytime soon that's a young hungry team , what they've achieved in what has been a very rough year is unbelievable and a credit to players management and everyone involved both as a club and community ,I was hoping for them to get across the line yesterday but it wasn't to be , whilst the majority of our county hate to see st lomans triumph hats off to them what a quality side and what quality in reserve im excited to watch them have a right good challenge at a Leinster title

Killucan must be kicking themselves

So Kinnegad had a game plan to set up defensively-keep the scoring low and stay in the game and then have a go late on.They nearly pulled it off and are getting great praise for getting their tactics spit on.Now Caulry tried the same tactics/game plan in the semis-got within 1 score -actually outscored Kinnegad in the second half and got slated by all and sundry for their efforts/tactics.Double standards??or was it the Roscommon effect??

Why would Killucan be kicking themselves?

Kinnegad were playing against a team who had won 6 of the previous 10 championships. A team with a number of intercounty forwards. I don't think anyone would have knocked Caulry had they made the final and set up defensively. To do otherwise would be idiotic. Kinnegad were level on 55 minutes , with a strong wind at their backs. They put themselves in a position to win. They didn't take it , and will need to improve and evolve their gameplan in order to win next year. However their tactics were the right for this game.

Theres a difference , Kinnegad were able to execute there game plan.
Caulry never laid a glove on them in semi final.
Is Cake staying on??

Barry Conroy is entitled to first refusal after his years as selector and coach. Johnny Murray has brought their ladies team to the county final so he'll be considered.

Lar is gone to Roscommon according to an article on hoganstand. Bit of a surprise, thought he would have stayed with downs a bit longer. I expect they will go outside for a manager again.
