Replying To jobber:  "Didnt make either game today but going to Tullamore was always going to be tough with the storm being brewed by their minors last year and Duignans media profile. The reality is that will all be irrelevant if we can beat Antrim next saturday. This is essentialy a knock out game which wont be easy.If we win we will have Meath in Mullingar for a place probably against Laois away (Whats new).At least that what i make of the draw.
I wonder how near fitness is Daragh Mccormack?
The minors are now I think going to be home to Carlow with the winner probably home to Offaly. We seem to be going well enough but 16 points v Meath and 14 v Down suggests we need to up our scoring rate if we are to make serious progress"
Minors are bagging plenty of goals, but yes they need to improve the point scoring. Majority of that team are u16 which bodes really well.
Darragh McCormack might not play u20 hurling until next year, still recovering from the cruciate injury he got vs Castletown last year

Duignan s media profile has no bearing on an under 20 match. Zero. Credit to the minors for s as another decent score.

Connor Park in some condition considering the weather, two championship matches there today and pitch held up well. Westmeath failed to fire in opening forty minutes and at that stage game was over. The Offaly attack looked potent and 2-22 in sixty mins on the day that was in it was impressive. Peter Clarke was immense at midfield and Marc Cunningham our top scorer from play from midfield, Cian McCarthy and David O' Reilly decent too, definitely areas that we could improve on. Offaly looked a fine side.

Yeah agree on Duignan.. but we could have got something from that game today if so many ridiculous decisions didn't go against us, many were in agreement on that in the stand.. also our backs decision making when coming out with the ball needs to improve as it was poor today and we conceded avoidable scores from our own errors. Looking at it though, it appears we will have strong minor and u20 teams next year given the age profile of both panels. This year will be a big learning curve for all those young lads.

Home game vs Carlow, the winner plays either Kerry or Offaly at home.
A very strong panel of players, the downfall is that 11 of them are u16s and aren't allowed play with their own age group this year because of their involvement with the minor apparently.
I think that's a shame but maybe its a good thing because you don't want to burn the young lads out either with games.
10 pt winners over Meath which should have been far more. 14 pt winners over Down which i was told would have been more if the weather wasn't so poor.
They are going well, hopefully they can keep building the momentum.

As regards u16 results its probably bad but another bunch of lads should get better coaching.Going well but if we are to beat Offaly not to mind some of the superpowers we will have to up our scoring potential.First though its Carlow and Westmeath teams know all about their ability to derail our ambitions.

It's down for Friday at 2 o'clock but that's wrong, I'd say it'll be on before the u20 game Saturday in Mullingar

Very strange having the minor on Friday at 2. Nobody will get to it

The minors first match was on a Saturday at home versus Meath and the Royals supporters outnumbered the home fans by approx 3:1, outside parents and family members our support base at underage level is prob the worst in Leinster, not much better at adult level.

It's neither a bank holiday or a public holiday

As our national games competitions covers 2 jurisdictions it is a Bank Holiday in one of them and a school holiday in both.

Thought Good Friday was a bank holiday! Sorry lad I was mistaken. I'll be giving myself the day off anyway!

Well done to the minors, another good win. That's 9 goals in the last 3 games, which shows our prowess in front of goals however we definitely do need to improve the accuracy regarding point taking.
Great momentum though, a lovely team and doing well under Pat Clarke and John Shaw.

Three from three is very good. Now Offaly which will be a stiffer test.By the way credit as well to Tony O Keefe and Andrew Mitchell who are also involved.

U20 game on only 20 minutes and already we are on the end of horrible referee decisions. Antrim only scoring from Frees. Standard of refereeing has gone down considerably at underage level recently.
