Agree......you'd think finding a football and hurling manager would be more important.

Great to see An Tochar back in Senior ranks again and going well. A real football heavyweight in Wicklow through the 90s & into the 00s and good to see names from that era coming through again in the current crop - Nolan, Cullen, Brady, Davis etc.

Personally I used always enjoy heading up to play in Roundwood. Big open pitch always kept immaculately and great facilities. They were ahead of their time in this regard and from a coaching perspective where they were known for a fast, running, possession based game long before it ever became fashionable in the GAA.

Wicklow GAA needs clubs like Roundwood to be strong if we are to ever even get back to where we were during the 90s and early 00s , let alone try and make progress to catch up on the rest of Leinster.

Replying To wicklowsupport:  "I was hoping to get to this game last night as i thought it was the most intriguing game of this round but unfortunately i couldn't make it. It sounds like it was a really good game. I am glad to see An Tochar back and it does sound as though they have some talent. I hope they can build on it and no regress like Tinahely. It is disappointing that there is no county manager appointed to assess this talent from a county perspective. Is Mike Hassett involved in any capacity: coaching or otherwise in Roundwood?"
Make up your mind you were either at the match or your weren't.

You must be having a rush of blood Pat. He clearly states that he couldn't make it to the game.

Ironic to have rubbish and your comment in the same post. As usual you have nothing constructive to post, just trying to intimidate others.

Take a chill pill Pat. Or relocate to Russia or some other state that limits free speech. That is as nasty a piece as I have come across. You were nasty enough before lockdown but at least you were amusing now you are just plain nasty. If stuff on here annoys you so much, just switch off, either way, I personally don't give a **** what you think. If your mind is so closed and narrow, then we are better off without your offerings. Now, that is the last time I will waste time reading, or replying, to your rubbish.

Castletown (Wexford) have 4 individuals involved with different teams across all the grades. Anthony Masterson with Arklow, Noel Morris with An Tochar, James Flood with Newtown, Paul Morris with Ballinacor

Thanks FootballRising. That is a good influx from Wexford. Will be interesting to see if An Tochar can keep their run going when they play Tinahely. This is probably the first time they will start a championship game as favourites. Does anyone know when the next round of games are scheduled for? I would imagine there will be a break as some teams have played consecutive weekends.

Wicklow support. I think it is weekend after next. Hurling this weekend. Yes, Tochair will be favs and it will indeed be interesting to see how they handle that. Those younger players have been playing against each other and with each other for the county since they were kids. Tinahely have a fine crop of young players but seem to have lost their way a little bit in recent times. Possibly they will rediscover their form next week ? The other games are unlikely to throw up any challengers with the exception of the Dales and Kiltegan. Hopefully AGB, Dunlavin and a few more might make me eat my words. Kiltegan form next week might give an indication of how good Bray might be. For the first time for many years I don't think that Rathnew will feature much this year. Plenty good enough to stay up but a ways off challenging. Blesso, Balto and Bray all had good wins at the weekend and I would expect the eventual winner to come from this trio.

Was in Aughrim the weekend and must say I was appalled at the state of the pitch, no grass on it and what was on it is yellow and dead - it also looked uneven in parts on the dug out side. I get that its been warm and all, but do we not have a caretaker and a portable sprinkler system? Most club pitches within the county look to be in better nick.

The pitch will get plenty of water shortly.

Be nice to be a bit positive about the volunteers that look after the grounds fair play on the paint job done recently all around

And no underground heating for the pitch either, disgrace!
