Replying To eoinog:  "Not sure what the story is with him. I assume he got a suspension after the match against Roscrib but I don't know for how long. Did he play for Cavan ?"
He did play a few games, he would have 4 former club mates on the Cavan panel also.

I feel we have better options than him. He was on panel the last day seen him warming up so he mustn't have been suspended. Don't think he gets into our full back line at its current form. McNamara, Lyons and Mullen should be nailed down. Have a feeling Lyons will be alright on Paddy Lynch. He's been exceptional for us. Very mature for his age and reads game excellently. Will be a top full back in Connacht in a few years. I know both teams have made a few changes from last time we played including the obvious galligan in midfield but we also have changes and played that game with 13 men for a period, took Hughes off early through injury aswell and conceded a flukey goal. Midfield is where this game is won and lost in my opinion. We didn't play Spillane or Marren last time if I'm correct. We need to stay tuned in in our half back line as that's where teams are getting joy when we switch off. As eoinog said coming in under the radar is perfect for us. Looking forward to it. Sounds as if there is a good Sligo following going. Nothing to lose just go at them the same way we went at Leitrim and game management this time around is key.

Was very impressed with Towey again, he is so dangerous and brings serious pace to the attack. Can't wait to see them boys in action in 2 weeks time!!!"
Not a great chance with the way you played against Leitrim, London especially the wayward shooting however in the meeting with Cavan this year you were competitive and that game swung in Cavans favor due to a lack of Sligo discipline and fluke of goal.

Sligos first trip to Croke Park since playing Tyrone there in 2015?

It will be a fairly different Cavan team than the team that played Sligo in the league with probably 6 to 7 changes.

I have no recollection of playing Tyrone in 2015 in Croke Park. As for poor Timmy. He is fantastic at seeing the worst scenario in every situation. Glass is always empty and a large irrepairable hole in the side of it.

Played them in Round 4 after the drubbing to Mayo in Connacht Final. Can't think of any Sligo game in it since.

Clare surprised the neighbours in Croker so hopefully our lads can put in a decent show. Certainly won't get near the amount of wides, or if we do we'll have nothing on the board, as Cavan won't give us as many scoring opportunities they way they set up in championship so far.

Turning to club scene there doesn't seem to be too many upsets at league level yet. Mullinabreena look to be in bother in Division 1 but would have been missing county men I assume for games? Ballymote on 5 points after 4 games is a decent return too in Division 2 and looks like Owenmore and Enniscrone will scrap it out for who goes down.

What's the word on Murphy for Sunday?

Heard nothing.. As he only lasted a few mins against London 3 weeks ago I would be shocked to see him on the panel. You need to be 100% fit to play in Croke Park.

Hamstrings usually 4-6 weeks. Its been 3/4 weeks since London so maybe off the bench for 15?

Just watched a McEntee interview. Same stuff as he always says before a championship game. That we're not expected to win and know how good our opponents are. Same old stuff from McEntee he always does it. Very frustrating and disappointing to watch especially when he knows there is a big Sligo following going.

As opposed to 72% fit to play in markievicz.

:) only joking.. Whats the buzz like around the county? Weeks like this i wish i still lived in Ireland. Really hope we can get behind the lads this Sunday. I listen to a lot of podcasts and I heard Andy Moran giving his two cents on the tailteann semi finals. He didnt even give us a mention. Listen to it, its on OTB. Absolutely nobody is giving us a chance. Its a tough ask but lets be honest Cavan are no world beaters. In the words of Keegan, I would LUV IT, LUV IT if we beat them

I am cautiously optimistic about our chances tomorrow. Definitely up against it but Cavan are only a Div 4 side also. All you need to do is look at the Cavan page or the score predictions on this forum to see that we are rank outsider's. Big pitch, no hiding place. I would be concerned for our midfield and defence. Our forwards are well able to look after themselves. You would expect that our shooting won't be as poor as it has been in the last few weeks. Carrabine, Reilly and O Connor should love the big open space. Nice to be traveling to Croke Park I'm mid June.

As it turned out shooting was just as poor. Near 40 shots and just 15 scores.

Hard luck today. Decent performace. Needed to stick away few more of the goal chances. Heading in the right direction though and a few very good players.
Pat Hughes was a great player over the years had a great career

A great day out yesterday and an awful lot of positives to take from it all. The major question being asked though is if Murphy was fit enough to play the second half, why didn't he start. Promotion from Division 4 is paramount next year.

I was impressed with Sligo yesterday. Looked a bit like rabbits in the headlights for 15 mins but got going then and put it up to us. We got very fortunate with some of your goal chances.

Spillane and Corribine are both excellent players. Your full back had a great game too.

I would say, after Tipp, ye were the best team we faced in Div 4 this year, so I'd be fairly confident ye can get promotion next year. Definitely not one of the bottom 8 sides in the country.

Great day surely. Had enough chances to win it but Cavan were probably a little slicker and found it a little easier to get scores than us. We have the nucleus of a good team for probably the first time in the last 10 years. We are still short a few in certain positions but things are moving along nicely. Promotion is vital next year. Pat Hughes has retired and he can go with his head held high. He gave every ounce for the team for a lot of years. Several talented lads around that won't commit to the cause could learn from him. I expect another one at least to step away.

Sligo looked very impressive yesterday and even though we probably shaded it over all , if you had taken your goal chances could have been a different result we had a few as well and didn't take them, but if we don't brush up on our defending we won't get past west Meath all in all two cracking games yesterday and not the boring negative games we've seen recently just two teams going at it brilliant to watch. Can't understand how you didn't win promotion with us this season as you've got some cracking players and will win div 4 next year.
