A Big win and the team was average today, says a lot to be fair. A big step up the next day but not beyond them to win either.

A really strange game yesterday in that we won comfortably but it was one of our poorest displays this season. I lost count of the amount ot times we needlessly kicked possession away and I thought we looked rather open defensively but to win by 15 and have plenty to improve upon going into next week Is a great position to be in.

Patch performance yesterday , not as good as recent games, but the win is what counts.

Tullamore sunday 4pm on a bank holiday weekend not ideal either !

Big test next Sunday to see if we can increase our recent levels of performance even more.

We were all convinced that the Kildare game would be in Navan, Tullamore is a good 2 hours on a bus so its far from ideal, not convinced by yesterday but a win is a win. Louth looked a bit open at the back so just as well Carlow were poor. Anyway, Kildare will be a big step up and they are a big, physical team so it will be very tough. On our day we can give them a rattle,

Lads,
We just bet Carlow in a championship game by 15 points. Ollie you might want to check is that a record as I don't remember us scoring 5 goals in championship match. We have a young ambitious Louth team here playing with real confidence We all know when this happens we are definitely a match for Kildare and have turned them over in the past. They had a great win over Dublin in the league and a draw with Kerry, the rest was a disaster for them, trashed by Donegal and not scoring against Northern teams bar Monaghan. There confidence is Fragile, ours is not. Bring it on. An Lu Abu.

A win is a win. Dont forget before Sunday Carlow beat Louth twice out of the last three Championship meetings including dishing us a hiding in 2018. Sam Mulroy scored more than the whole carlow team put together. It is Louths biggest Championship win since 1994 when we Carlow by 17 points in Drawda. The last time wee scored 5 goals in a Championship match was ironically against Kildare in the wonderful year of 1957. It will be Louths first Championship match in Tullamore since 1985 when we were beaten by Offaly by 14 points. Compare that to Kildare who have played 13 Championship matches in Tullamore since 85, winning 7, drawing 3 and losing 3. Louth have won the last 3 league matches at Tullamore. Plus Louth have a decent record against Kildare. Oh by the way the Louth Club Championship draws are on tonight at 8.00 pm on LMFM.

You are right Ninja. a lot of supporters will be put off by the venue and time of the game.

All part of Mickey & Gavin's plan! Keep Kildare guessing. Good luck to Louth on Sunday. For a change wee head into a game v D1 team with confidence and a chance

Why is a 4pm start next Sunday. Game is not televised either as far as I know. 2pm would have been much better.

First of all well done on Sunday the best team won well & no arguments here. But please dont be reading too much into the margin of victory as Carlow are at our lowest ebb in years. Of the team which beat ye in 2018 we had 4 starters on Sunday & none on the bench. We have lost most of our big men & leaders & have a whole new young team & unfortunately a lot of them are not up to inter county standard. When we beat Kildare in 2018 they were also after being relegated from div 1 but they had lost all games. This time they won 2 & drew one. I wouldn't agree that they got hammered in the other games as they ran Armagh & Tyrone close enough. I'd love to see ye beat Kildare & make the Leinster Semi but dont get carried away with beating this poor Carlow side considering at half time ye had only 6 points on the board compared to 5 for Carlow after playing with a gale force wind. Yes I know ye had 2 goals as well but that wont do against Kildare. Please dont take this post as sour grapes ( I predicted an 11 point win for ye ) as I genuinely would love Louth to rattle the lillywhites & would be great for all the smaller counties. Best of luck.

Will it be another great Wee County victory over the Lilly whites tomorrow that can join the list of the super Stefan White show in 1991 at Drawda, Colin Kelly show in 1995 at Newbridge, Paddy Keenan show at Newbridge in 2007 and the Brian White show in 2010 at Navan. Louth are 4/1 with PP to win. Can wee win? Yes wee can. Up the Wee County.

Is Kildare that good? I didn't expect Louth to win but didn't expect Louth to beaten this badly? After all ye will both be in Division 2 in 2023. Maybe just an off day for Louth. Thought it would be competitive.

They were very good in Division One this year. Glenn Ryan and his selectors have improved them for me, as a home management team can do. He was fairly tetchy the day they they were relegated and never showed a 'sure we were delighted just to be here' attitude. I thought that was great to hear, not a glib sure we did great in Division One reply you could expect from a foreign manager, yerra. I don't think we've seen the best of Kildare in 2022. They play a nice brand of football, need to tighten up at the back a bit. Seemingly Daniel Flynn can be a bit too off-the-cuff to be a regular starter. Was disappointed to not see him until late in the game in Carrick. If Kildare can get the best from their team and include such a talent as Flynn I think they'll still be in the All Ireland championship in July.
