We're on a great run. Hopefully we can maintain it on the championship.

Well done Louth and welcome to Division 2, where statistically the best Leinster teams reside so it will be real preparation for Championship 2023. Will the new pitch in Dundalk be ready to host your home games? Brilliant if it was.

Congratulations Louth. Well done!

I reckon that, Harte will take you to Div. 1, too: Limerick, Cork, Meath, Clare, Derry, and Kildare, he'd see all of those teams as being beatable (and so would I). And he'll relish a cut at the Dubs again…from a different angle.

Best of luck going forward. And well done again.

What a great day all around. I'm still recovering and I left my voice in Croke Park. It's always great to win a trophy in Croke Park. The X-Factor feeling is def back within the Wee County. I have not felt this way since 2010. The Carlow match cant come quick enough.

FKD yes you are correct and right. Offaly beat us in the first match and then we won our next eight matches that season: Antrim, Limerick, London, Wicklow, Westmeath, Leitrim, Laois (semi-final) and Offaly (final). The following season in our first league match we beat then the All Ireland Champions down in Killarney by a point to make it unbeaten in 9 matches before the Rossies beat us in Drawda.

It sure was FKD. Louth won their first six league matches, then lost at home to Westmeath when they were already promoted. Beat Limerick in the semi-final then Donegal in the final after a replay. Won the Tommy Murphy cup as well that year.

How far can this Louth team go?

How far can Mickey bring them along?

Div 1?
Wii a Leinster?
All Ireland Semi?

I remember seeing Wexford in a Div 1 final and they should of beaten Dublin in a few Finals also over years.

Congrats to you lads and Mickey, great achievement to say the least, 2010 was a great year For Louth football no doubt and we'll leave it at that, Carlow hosted the defacto leinster champions in DCP in early 2011, we didn't gloat on the result for sporting reasons, we didn't make national headlines for the same reasons, - - I'm sort of looking forward the Louth game myself, - - - well sort of.

Well, we weren't expecting to win in 2011 if that answers your question.

We played Carlow in Navan in the first round in 1957. In later rounds we played Wexford, Kildare and Dublin. Might we meet Wexford in Leinster final.

Just wondering why the game is fixed for Navan? 2011, 2016 & 2018 were all played in Portlaoise. I remember 1997 we played Louth in Newbridge & in 2009 we met in Parnell park. In my time anyway I never remember playing Louth in Championship in Navan. Ye will be strong favourites & tbh it will be more like a scoreline from 2016 when ye won by ten than 2018 when we won by 11. We are trying to build a whole new team with young lads who are game but inexperienced. Saw louth in league final & Harte has ye going well. Anyway we go in hope. Hard to believe Championship starting so soon but looking forward to the game.

Supersub that match was played in O'Moore Park and not DCP. That was a great Carlow win over the Wee County. It was their first Championship win over Louth after 11 attempts. It was Carlow's first Championship win since 2006. Louth were winning by 3 points with 5 mins to go but Carlow scored the last 4 points with Brendan Murphy scoring the winner deep in injury time.

I would be happy with getting to a Leinster semi-final. We have only been in one since 1998. Next year if we avoid relegation that would be a bonus. 2007 was the last time that we were in Division 1 and we only stayed 1 year in it.

The last time we played Carlow in Navan was in 1957. Light the candles now. Louth's heaven 57.

You are correct Ollie, O'Moore Park it was, I must have got caught up in the excitement of reliving the game in front of a packed home crowd in NCP. ( DCP ) I wonder could there be a venue change when we're reliving the replay of the Louth v Carlow game, no harm in dreaming. -

May the best team win.
