Replying To Gaa_lover:  "Leitrims two matches against Antrim under Hyland was a home win and a 1 point loss in Belfast

With home advantage this is opportunity for Leitrim to progress, failure to do so will prove Leitrim have regressed under Andy Moran."
What has the results of the last two meetings got to do with this game coming up? In last year's league Antrim had already topped the table and been promoted. They were 11 points up and let Leitrim back into it. It's pretty narrow minded to say Leitrim will have regressed if they don't win. It's this type of short term success gain that is the downfall of Leitrim football. From hearing reports from insiders in the camp, the setup is a lot more professional than under other management teams. In order to progress, the panel needs to stay together for the 3 years and do the work that is set out for them. This will only benefit Leitrim.

I have heard some varying reports from players in camp. A few have said "the set up was better under Hyland and that's saying something". That being said these players had dropped off the panel as they weren't getting played. The amount of leaks that comes from the panel is a joke at this point. Nothing seems to be kept quiet. Its like a soap opera at this stage.

In any setup it only takes one crank whose not getting his own way to throw the toys out of the pram!! Id say there are quite a few lads who have over inflated egos in the panel and if they're not starting they will cause ripples as they want to be centre of attention. Its extremely childish but thats the way.

League fixtures have been released. I see that there has been no promotion or relegation again this year which has once again left the Duff in div 1. A good chance for the big clubs to get some shooting practice in when they face them. Maybe Ray Cox can keep them up again.

You seem to have a little bit of obsession with Annaduff and the fact that they are unable to compete with "the big clubs" whoever they are. it is Leitrim football- there are no "big clubs".............. and Annaduff are there on merit like all clubs so stop the mud slinging and if you have an issue sort it out in your head before coming out with obvious bias against one club or another.

What is the logic behind this? This surely won't improve standards in the county.

On merit? Themselves and Manor finished bottom last year so therefore should have been relegated. Annaduff conceding an average of 26 points per game.

there was no promotion/relegation last year, simple as.. league games last year were glorified challenges, medals not given to champions etc and teams in div 2 will hardly be clamoring to ask to go up to play likes of mohill and marys containing county players unless competing in senior championship.

Oh right. Suppose its annaduffs fault that there was no relegation was it? And they got promoted the year before so yes they are there on merit. Thats how these things work. Happens in other counties and other sports too. You get promoted and then you play at a higher level. Its a good system I think

Leitrim v Antrim gets the round 1 live GAAGO coverage so I'll be tuning in to see what if any progress Leitrim have made under Andy Moran and his management.

Well the likes of Fenagh, Gortletteragh, Dromahair definitely want to be in Div 1 as they are senior clubs. as well as these I would hope the rest of the teams want to get out of Div 2 and progress their clubs. If not well that tells you all that's wrong with Leitrim GAA.

Of course they were there last year on merit. I'm saying Manor and Duff shouldn't be there this year. Very few other counties followed the system of no promotion/relegation during covid. And as you say its a good system so why didn't they implement it during covid.

I do not know why they didn't implement it. How would I know that? They are also there this year on merit as the county board decided there was no relegation but to say that some teams/clubs should not be there because of that is disingenious and unfair as this had nothing to do with either club. You obviously have an issue with Annaduff as it is not the first time you used them to back up your arguments- same applied in all divisions- why not target some of those clubs????

Do you not also see me using Manor to back up my argument. I'm only having a bit of light hearted fun. Suppose it is at the mighty duffs expense. But I still stand by my point that them and manor should have been relegated .

Look back through previous posts and you'll see you used annaduff as well. Only used Manor when you were called out on it. Youre obviously a WUM

Dublin had it that way. It was in case a team had a covid outbreak and couldn't field. So instead of it getting messy, just allow it to progress as glorified challenges so at least lads were still kicking ball. Normal service resumed now so forget about it!

But is there not no relegation or promotion this year?

Leitrim minor footballers beat Galway tonight in the round robin. Congrats!
Sligo also beat Roscommon - what odds on a Leitrim v Sligo Connacht final?
(Mayo look to be the team to beat though).
