Lisa Fallon, Gareth Bradshaw, Gary O'Donnell, Kevin Johnson and David Morris are all set to form part of Fitzmaurice's backroom team.

Replying To LetsPlayBall:  "Agreed. Deserves his chance.
Time to forget about Flaherty he doesn't even play in goal for his club.
Gleeson deserves to be kept but would like to see Canney give him a run for his money. Superb under high ball and has many different various types of kickouts in his locker."
Why forget about Flaherty if Canney is suddenly a candidate after only playing in goals for 5 wet minutes
Canney has played outfield until this year so your logic doesn't fly at all.

Replying To Kickitout:  "No word as of yet on make up of backroom teams lots of rumours, think Dave Morris definitely back heard Johnson and rochford also hard see both as it mighr be 2 many chiefs. ,,, I'd imagine new manager will prib run trial games to see what players are out there prib only way 2 get a feel for it so I'd imagine within next 3 weeks something should start happening,,"
All backroom team that according to The Examiner have been appointed are in my opinion firm believers in possession football, as seen played in last weekends first semi final. Would have been hoping and expecting EM to transition the team to a much more kicking based game but maybe he is otherwise minded. Anyway best of luck to all appointed.

Rte gaa podcast said he had someone from Kerry joining? I think it was mike quirke who said it. Eamon would have managed against odonnell and Bradshaw when the played against Galway. Sorts out the north and west connection. He said to wanted someone from the last team so morris is carrying over the intelligence. Lisa worked under Jim Gavin and studied opposition.

Replying To The_analyser:  "Dublin debatable. We have won league games in Croke Park winning a few Division 2 titles including beating Galway in one.

Championships yes no win since 1980 it happens even your own Mayo who had a period of nearly 40 years of not winning in Croke Park. We'll see if we have a say if we happen to reach Croke Park first and foremost.

Interesting appointment by Galway Seniors. Only recently Eamonn Fitzmaurice said in interview you really need to be retired from work to give full commitment to a senior intercounty role so will be tricky to manage the principal role in Dingle and then a number of nights in Galway.

First Kerry man in charge of a Connacht team since John Evans in charge of us."
League games. Seriously?

The back room team means very little, the best Galway team of the last 25 years had a coach, Cian O'Neill, who's going to be doing the coaching, Morris, Johnston or Fitzmaurice himself and based on what I witnessed in 2026 they need a lot of it. I do wonder what the hell half of them were doing in the set up with PJ…Scan, Mickey Graham, Dave Morris, Raymond Galligan, Lloyd Kelly, Micheal O'Domhnaill, I used to see Diarmuid Blake around and then they added Darragh Sheridan last year.
