Replying To Claretandblue:  "How could any genuine supporter feel their county is better off beaten?"
I don't think we had the form or the energy or the team to win a 2025 semi. In that sense, I'm comfortable with today's exit, and I don't see anything ungenuine about that. I don't see today as a missed opportunity, in the context of winning an allireland. If Meath keep pulling up trees at the semi, I'll reserve the right to change my mind, but I don't envisage that happening.

Have to say Cian O'Neill also a significant loss this year. Team have not looked as well organised this year. Especially defensively.

I don't it cost us but it was a strange decision. I'm guessing it was the metres covered was the reason why him and Hernon came off. What cost us we were bested in the middle third and unable to get our full forward line going.

Congrats. to Meath on a deserved victory. What a turnaround in fortunes in just a year - players and management deserve great credit. Meath displayed the battling, never say die traditional qualities that is their hallmark. This win today will surely give the team the confidence to go on to contest the semi and no reason to fear anyone.

Also, thanks to Pj and his talented panel for everything they have put into the effort of winning an AI. Now is the time to support this great bunch of players.

We'll be back next year, going for 5 in a row in Connacht, still a hugely talented panel...
A massive GAA county , the neighbours could only wish for players that we have....
I'd imagine Paul Conroy ( possibly) will be our only retirement..

We didn't deserve a win today, too many mistakes and a lack of energy in the first half. It's hard to see where we go next from here but there's something in that team yet. We need to develop a proper kickout strategy and pick a first choice keeper

Mature response to a genuine question. I'll save the hard truths for another day.

You were calling them gutless a year ago.

So much for the group of death as no team left in last 4. Massive opportunity missed today and our pedestrian approach cost us. We left shackles off and kicked 2-3 than let a calamity of a goal in. I do have to question the last free and the hooter but overall no complaints we did not deserve to beat a gutsy but also limited Meath. Watch as Tyrone or Donegal beat them comfortably. Our kickouts malfunctioned today and question marks must be asked about changing goalie mid year only to revert to Gleeson. Long winter ahead and Cian O Neill looked a happy man watching Kerry destroy Armagh.

Well done Meath ye were nowhere near yer best and still had the will and the way to win it in the end. Best of luck in the semi. As for Galway, the first half was as poor as I have seen since the days of AM. Shocking mistakes, Sideways stuff, carrying into traffic, etc. I think we have been overrated quite a bit since 22, Kerry looked on a different level altogether. Maybe PJ will call it off now.

Nail on head.

We keep hearing of corofin and brains but hard to see what morris added.

Major disappointment today the lack of movement by FF line in first half was scandalous.

Eat alive on breaks.

Meath with movement were able to get free for kickouts something we could not do.

As sick as we are players must be doubly disappointed.

As per togoutlads an embarrassment with his comments.

Onto club

Replying To PressureKick:  "How do you think bookmakers make very consistent profits year on year if they simply make predictions based off lazy media analysis? If that was the case Armagh would be 1/5 this week v Kerry rather than 8/11. Never mind the influence of a betting exchange market, which takes the bookmaker out of the equation. If you misunderstand the gambling industry that much then id strongly suggest you stop betting, it's a dangerous game"
Hmmmmm. Right!

What cost us was over and back, slow attacks. All year we destroyed teams when attacking at speed. Unstoppable.
Problem is, we only do it when we're in trouble. Terrible game planning.

hard luck to the lads today..we simply didnt have the energy levels to stick the pace.
fair play to meath., well and truly the better team but once again what was gleeson doing
going short when we have conroy maher and darcy out in midfield but there you go.

i hope nobody walks away but id say thats the end of conroy..what a servant he has ben.
as for pj i think he has done really well but i think its time for change to freshen things up.
time to bring in the successful corofin management team and give them a real go and joe cannay
now available now also..
hoping comer stays around, brilliant again today when introduced..

keep the heads up lads., we'll go again next year..

Meath seemed to have a defensive shape in the first half that bamboozled us totally. Out lack of capacity to hurt their set defense was shocking. In the same week that we christened Magic Thompson, our full forward line seemed to say 'OK Magic, let's see how magic you can be, if we don't move'.
