Great comeback win when looked a beaten docket for most of the 1st half. Draw should be interesting and no team will want to draw Galway. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 494 - 14/06/2025 23:20:29 2617574 Link 0 |
Super second half performance. Cooke nailed a few beauties too - so credit where it's due. Thompson such a brilliant creative playmaker - always has time on the ball and makes the right play. Imo, Pj should consider playing him centre forward as he effectively links up the play. These players from soccer backgrounds offer something special e.g. Cian Lynch Limerick. Let's not kid ourselves, it won't be easy for these players to go again next weekend after the second half performance. Kerry will be smarting, so hopefully we can avoid them next weekend - but if that's the way the cards fall, so be it. Really (Galway) - Posts: 641 - 14/06/2025 23:51:33 2617581 Link 1 |
He was shocking! How many did he kick over the sideline? Short kickouts were terrible too. He had no save to make. Long kickouts weren't anywhere as long as Gleesons. Reckless decision to start him in a game like that. He should, however, have started half of the league matches. Stupid to say Padraig Joyce's meeting last Tuesday made the difference after a first half like that. We are unstoppable when we play attacking football but we slow down too much in the middle third. Daniel Fla and Cian Hernon deserve to start the next day in place of McHugh and Silke. They're great players and great servants but not in form at the moment. Rub of the green alright to get top seeds and be given the hardest possible team from every pot. Are you just basically the same other clown who keeps posting the same thing over and over? Do you need help?

Galway lucky to get the win there & Joyce lucky to be still in the job ! Armagh looked like they were cruising in 2nd gear in the first half & the fight wasn't in them in the second , it was do or die for Galway , think it would of been a different story if it was knockout for Armagh ! They have some fine footballers but fair play to the lads ! galwayXI (Galway) - Posts: 90 - 15/06/2025 05:47:02 2617597 Link 0 |
Some game yesterday, couldn't see a way back for us at halftime but fair play to the lads really dug deep and found another level when it mattered. Our kickout press in the second half was key, the amount of easy ones they got off early on was criminal. All the subs really made an impact coming on, could argue that Daniel O Flaherty is putting his hand up for first team selection the next day. You must be absolutely sick!! Delighted with yourself at half time then slowly but surely proven wrong yet again! Whether we won or lost this game, these lads have proven themselves to be a fine team!! Who do you think was being carried today?

Dropping Dylan McHugh who made the first goal and Liam Silke who had a bug according to PJ, you'll make everyone else cranky in Corofin !!

Hats off to the team & management for digging out the win yesterday and let no one say Armagh weren't going full bore, they would have been delighted to send us packing believe me. Lots to work on for next weekend but no one will want us in the draw tomorrow morning. johnjoe21 (Galway) - Posts: 133 - 15/06/2025 09:59:43 2617616 Link 0 |
He wasn't shocking. He also gave several mid range kickouts to players that Connor Gleeson wouldn't have made.He came out and took man and ball to stop Armagh getting a goal so leave it out.

He was playing centre forward area he is essentially our playmaker in short space of time sensational footballer. People need to ignore number players wearing. Delighted sweeney provided such a big impact and Cooke conroy swap worked well for both. I think DOF has to start 7 weather silke or glynn at 4 can be debated If just give McHugh edge over hernon The slow starts a concern along with passive stand off defending from old rules jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1575 - 15/06/2025 10:28:23 2617628 Link 2 |
You are way off. Murnin, O 'Neill and Grugan have been typically their chief scorers over the years or more importantly their key link players. Two played so your stat retention not great. Also if their 1st half performance was anything to go by they went for our throat. Kicked very few wides and easier for them to express themselves as they had nothing to lose. Yes you are wumming etc and don't like us but by god the resilience shown by us is the only answer you might understand. You spend more time wumming about a brilliant side you don't like than constructively commenting on the forum aligned with the county who i presume you represent (Donegal). Sad.

Fair play to Galway but I think Armagh helped you massively by taking their foot off the gas. First half showed the gulf between the sides. Galway still in it though and true that noone will want to draw them. JimB1991 (Donegal) - Posts: 74 - 15/06/2025 10:50:45 2617641 Link 0 |
PJ probably told him to stay put and not take any chances going up the field in such a big game.Probably worried Armagh would target him which they would have.

Check Armagh's top scorers this year, your way off and GAA+ confirmed this. Wasn't hard in the first half as Galway were poor.Send me your email and I'll check my posts with you to ensure they meet your standards. Maybe have a go at your fellow County men who are slating your keeper.

Shane McGuigan kicked 10 points V Dubs yesterday including 3 Two Pointers. Johnny McGrath did really well on him 2 weeks ago and was super again yesterday. giveitlong (Galway) - Posts: 1285 - 15/06/2025 12:05:04 2617673 Link 3 |
He had one crucial interception won a free but that was it indeed

McGuigan only scored a solitary point from play yesterday. 9 points from frees.
