Replying To eoinog:  "Delighted for Conor Gleeson. He has taken so much undeserved criticism from so called Galway supporters on this forum."
Yes absoluted delighted for Connor Gleeson and for this fine Galway team that they have won three Connacht titles in a row. It took great coolness, skill and determination for Gleeson to convert the winning free. So much for all the naysayers on this forum who have had nothing good to say about him. They probably never kicked a ball in their lives. Congratulations to the team, to PJ and the management team on this great victory and best of luck for the games ahead. Gaillimh Abū.

Congratulations to Galway on a good win. 2 points down in injury time and then go on to kick the last three points. Delighted for Conor Gleeson who took some stick previously on this forum.
Great to see both teams really go at it and show that a Connacht Championship medal still means something. Mayo again in the Hyde for the Rossies.

Replying To Sportsfanatic90:  "Good win mayo should have been further ahead in the first 1/4, classic mayo bottling the big games. Bench made the difference, Maher tierney and Daniel all had big impacts and obv Shane. It's a good test in 2 weeks see if Derry can be bet, I'd have favs as dubs then in order Kerry Derry, then Galway, mayo Donegal Armagh Tyrone Roscommon Monaghan. Would love to see Derry bet in Pearse to burst their bubble a wee bit. Can't wait the for cusack park mullingar for the Galway game, tough task but nothing to fear"
Our bubble was well and truly burst by Jim McGuinness a few weeks back. It will take a big effort to get anything in Galway who will surely be on a real high following that last minute win today. There are big question marks over Derry following that humbling. We can't let anything like that happen again.

From what i saw today, neither Mayo or Galway will be having a say at the business end of the championship this year..

A carlsberg like winning finish to a Connacht final for Galway against Mayo. Derry next up in Salthill makes for a very interesting game, winner of that game will reach the AI semi final at least IMO.

Well that was one cracking day out in Salthill! The sun shining all day, the prom packed, a cruise ship out on a flat calm Galway Bay, and da Mayo's bet*!! Loved that finish - a sweet one! Hope we build from this. A great Galway support today, let's keep it going. These lads are only getting going.

Sunday Game seem surprised that Comer was class today, saying he mightn't be as good all year. Truth is he's rested, flying fit, only getting started.

Sometimes the quality wasn't the best from both teams but that was probably the most exciting game I have seen in a long time and certainly the most exciting Connacht final when it really got going in the second half. I was frustrated by a lot of the Galway play i.e. needless turnovers, poor handpasses, kickpasses etc. but by God had they heart, workrate, intensity and a never say die attitude that is so invaluable in tight games. Fair play to Conor Gleeson also - even though he gave a cheap point away after being tackled too far up the field, he had nerves of steel to knock over those 2 frees against the wind. A very humble, modest fellow also. Gaillimh Abú!

Replying To GDL:  "Is he not managing a Senior Galway club team next year?
Anyways, will you answer the question, what coaching qualifications have you? and what team have you managed? They way you're typing here you must be KOB, KJ, VD or DC. They've won a few big titles recently. Which one are you? Or are you a keyboard warrior???? If you are one of them, I'll consider your thoughts on the topic more closely."
Sure if I tell you that you'll know who I am, all the the people you have named there have proven my point again you are not doing yourself any favours, people in these jobs should be qualified yes he is over a senior team this year and they were beatin by a jnr team in the league today again I rest my case, under 17 such a critical sage of development and just because this fella was with the academy he gets the gig,

One man i was delighted for today was John Maher. During the league when a lot of the main men were missing i though he done trojan work (&heany) around the middle of the field even in games where Galway struggled. When the big game came today he didn't start as the main men were back. I though his introduction brought much needed drive. For a big man he has mobility, gives it all and unlucky not to get a goal today. He gets a medal today but that medal is more for those hard yards during the league.

Tommy, only for Damien's super performance, and Conor's unnecessary upfield foray and a few indecisive restarts, my prediction as MOM would be nailed on, lol.
Seriously, Shane Walsh's introduction gave the impetus. Time management recognised this, and include him in the inner circle ffs!

Ursula Jacob made the inaccurate comment that Galway are still fielding their 2017 all-ireland winning side, when they actually only started 6 of those players, and brought on 2 more of them in Wexford on Saturday.

A more accurate assessment of Galway's woes on the day imo would have spoken to the contribution and capabilities of the 9 starters who didn't actually start the 2017 all-ireland final.

Off the wall 'analysis' from Ursula with that 'point'.

Let's stick with the positives. That win was down to hard work and effort. Maher put in a shift when he came on, McHugh even Tierney for the few minutes. Massive turnover by Kelly on Ruane at the end which won us the game. We had a much better impact from the bench than Mayo, Maher, Walsh even Tierney. We are in a good place, players coming back and getting sharper. Up Galway, 3 in a row.

Congratulations Galway, a great win. A thoroughly enjoyable, exciting game; credit to both sides. Galway just have those 3-4 players with extra snazz and class that Mayo lack!
