There is no Senior B next year. Only Senior and Premier Intermediate. They will be in that intermediate in a couple of years time no doubt. Their best player is in 42 years old and they seem to have nothing coming through at underage.

Regardless of what happens tomorrow, there is a fairly big gap between the top four and the rest. Think only Loughrea, Clarinbridge, Turloughmore and St Thomas' can win the championship. Four very good teams. The chasing pack are mediocre at best, led by Oranmore, Larkins, Sarsfields and Athenry. Moycullen and Castlegar bringing up the rear.

Oh the mighty Castlegar....only Club in Galway fielding 5 adult teams, Senior, Junior A,B,E,F.
That's some amount of hurlers for the big urban parish yet still relying on a 42yr old to save their Senior status!

The Bridge have now scored 11-49 in two games against Turlough and Ardrahan. It will take a very good defence to keep that forward line quiet later in the championship. The game today was over at half time once the first two goals went in from Aaron and Evan Niland.

Is it just me but is the standard of hurling very poor this year. Don't get me wrong as Clarinbridge turloughmore and Thomas's are playing very well but the rest of the teams standards are poor enough I'm kinda shocked at how the group stages are not as competitive as they once were. Hopefully when the knockout stages come it is more competitive but really the standard has to be brought back up again.

Think it's just the level that the top four are at. Any of Loughrea, Clarinbridge, Turloughmore or St Thomas' would fancy their chances of an all ireland if they can get out of Galway. The rest are a mediocre bunch.

Sarsfields a good bit better today. Strong at 3 and 6 with Darren Morrissey and John Cooney. Kevin Cooney and Alex Connaire were super up front.

It's a pity Clarinbridge and Turloughmore never 'get out' of Galway, while simultaneously fancying their chances of an all-ireland.

In no way am I trying to claim moycullen are in the top 6 or 7 teams..but yesterday they were missing colm Cunningham, diarmuid davaren and fionn mcdonagh..thats 3 of their 4 best players.(Along with eanna noone)..have them and they are at 10 points closer to Thomas's. I'd be confident a full moycullen team would beat gort .,(and indeed athenry) if they get those players back remains to be seen.
