Very hard to see us not give up soft goals with teams running through the middle like they have been. McIntyre was right in last week's tribune... New no.6 required.

Jaysus if Galway can't bring a bit of aggression for Tipp then hurling is ******. There was none seen from around 10 of them in the Leinster final. If the first round of the league result can't ignite the flames. This is the match to make a statement and show where they really at. Play ***** all year and an opportunity to get to a All Ireland semi final.

Defiantly I'd play p mannion at 6

Nothing to lose I'd try a Lee killeen midfield

Fahy
Morrisey
Daithi
Fintan
Fahy
Mannion
TJ
Lee
Killeen
Fleming
Mannion
Whelan
Concannon
Rabbitte
K Cooney

The wind went out of my sails fairly quickly after our performance in the Leinster Final, BUT I am a positive individual and we can beat Tipp!
I won't be blowing about how much we will win by because I have no idea what sort of Galway will turn up and neither does Tipp.
It's over to the Galway hurlers now to show us what they have....Galway by 2pts.

based on the last match - this tactic of yours (passing to another lad in a maroon jersey) seems a tough one for some players to understand

Morrissey should be a 6
FB is a great bit of stuff but too slow unfortunately.
Shove Lee up the field a bit.

Interesting selection, Killeen in midfield, he seems like a decent hurler and fine athlete but definitely not an IC forward. I was going with Fahy at CB and lee on the wing, Mannion on the other wing. I would put CW center forward as a roving forward, good distribution and ball winner and keep Mannion close to goal in the corner as he is prob our only chance at goal. Don't know enough about Rabbitte. K Cooney seems decent when he get ball in hand. I'm not expecting a win, but we need to go down swinging. Tipp are better than KK, but they are no Cork or Limerick on current form.

Analysis of the weekend is pointless. Outside of Mannion and Whelan we are toothless and they will be nullified Saturday. It's a case of how much Tipp want to win by. We're about as threatening as Wexford are. We were once a top 4 team but are now back in 6th/7th and that is just the reality. Reaching Leinster finals is our ceiling for the next few years

"Tipp are better than KK" Are they? What's your evidence or reasoning for that?

Keeping Mannion close to goal and in the corner is exactly what Tipp would like us to do if they were to advise us on tactics. Mannion has been the conductor of the orchestra for us , distributing and assisting others for scores as well as being our main point scorer himself. We need him to continue the roving game he has played to good effect this year if we are to have any chance against Tipp.

Why are you analysing it so? No harm stating the obvious, I suppose. It beats deluding yourself anyway, imo.

Lads, Tipperary are no world beaters. Neither are Galway, as we on this forum know all too well.
There is however, a chance for one of these teams to win a competitive game of hurling and go into an All-Ireland semi against Cork with nothing to lose..
I'll travel to Limerick more in hope than expectation, and hopefully will travel to Croke Park 2 weeks later in the same frame of mind. There won't be much in it between Galway and Tipp. Will be interesting to see the handicap the bookies give.

Evidence! Didn't realize it was a legal case. I don't think this is a great KK team, form against other Leinster teams has been average. I get that you can only beat whats in front of you but they have had lapses in games against average opposition like Dublin/Galway and let them back into games. Tipp drew with Limerick, beat Clare and I think they would have contested against Cork if they didn't have the sending off after 2 mins. I don't think there is a massive amount between them, both are better than Galway but I would give the nod to Tipp over KK IMHO.
