It's not a 'poor us thing'. It's a 'we're poor thing' actually.

It's naive imo to look at the Cork result from 2 years ago, and to be claiming comfort from it. What about team development trends in the past 2 years? Are you prepared to dismiss that factor?

The Galway Cork 2022 game reminded me of the 2008 clash, but in reverse. In 2008, Cork were trending towards being 'finished', and Galway debuted Joe Canning. Cork didn't beat Galway in championship since, losing in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 & 2022.

In 2022, Galway didn't beat Cork. Cork beat themselves, just like Galway did in '08. The similarity with 2008 was eerie. Galway were trending towards being 'finished'. Cork were on the rise.

Correct. If Galway lose or both games are draws then they are out

I don't think we're in any position to slag off any county over losing All Irelands, I would doubt there is any county in Ireland with a worse All Ireland losing record than Galway, with the hurlers accounting for the majority of those losses. The Galway hurlers are like Spurs in a lot of ways, capable of beating anyone on their day, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty they will inevitably lose. They have a history of lost chances, and will never be a major hurling power house like Limerick have become, as it's just not in their DNA. Happy with a rare success, happy to get to finals now and again, but no drive and no ambition primarily due to the fact that they are very poorly governed from the top downwards. We constantly blame managers, we were all thrilled when King Henry took us over, but now that we are clearly going backwards, it's all his fault, with shouts to bring back MOD who was fortunate enough to benefit from all of Anthony Cunningham's great work. There are serious issues in Galway hurling like our fascination for winning Minor Hurling titles, yet no questions were asked when none of that success translated into U-20 success. We can clearly see the results of that now with nothing coming through to senior level, and we are still massively reliant on some of our big names from 2017. We are poorly coached for which yes the manager must take the blame, but where is our underage hurling academy in comparison to Limerick. The Limerick underage academy has been essential in the skill development, game management, strength and conditioning and personal development off the pitch for young players, and is absolutely essential in ensuring the continued player growth that will see these players emerge from the academy ready to perform at the highest level for their county. We need to get rid of SuperMacs, and try to find a sponsor with big pockets who is willing to fund such an academy, otherwise we will never challenge for the Liam Mc Carthy again. Galway hurling is still living off 2017, and is now been left rapidly behind, so time for the Galway County Board to wake up, although sadly I won't hold my breath.

Yep. Skehill didn't seem too confident that you will though. Think the final day of Leinster is set up to be a cracker. I won't be putting any money on any of the 3 results.

And that's a man that was optimistic enough to line out in an all-ireland final replay with just one fully functioning shoulder/arm, in a goalkeeping role at that.

I think we will be fine on Sunday once we neutralise their running game in some way. For as well as they did against Kilkenny, they still conceded 1-29 and that should have been a lot more if Keoghan hadn't missed a simple goal at the start and TJ missing a bunch of frees. They also have a horrendous record in Salthill.

Really, what does Mister know it all reckon is the way forward for our hurlers. You're probably one of these people who thinks there is nothing wrong with Galway hurling, and will bang on about 2017 for the next 20 years.

No you wouldn't, especially with Donoghue and Forde managing. They'll know the Galway lads inside out.
