Telling me what Cyril Farrell said during a match tells me all I need to know. Sitting at home "watching a match" through a radio. Tuhoy was very poor. Consistently gave the ball away. Stretch the legs, attend the odd match. Might be able to form an opinion yourself rather than relying on Cyril to you thinking for you. Point stands with your thinking: Anyone that plays poorly = to the gallows - half the county is better. Rinse and repeat. Here's 20 random names off the top of my head. We admire your optimism also tiger with your dismissive attitude of other teams - a bit like your dismissive attitude of Antrim last weekend and Westmeath last year that came back to bite ye hard! lol

You worry about your own county and its mindset, we're fairly handy at being critical of our own. We don't need any...what's the word...oh yes, flaky, any flaky ideas coming across the Shannon.

So you are saying Linnane didn't give the ball away the last day a number of times by soloing blindly into cul de sacs and Burke / Glennon played well marking their men and making / taking scores? If you think that its you that might as well "sit at home"! Don't worry I saw both games and know what happened.

I was at the game and he wasn't that poor, and no worse than Linnane. Tuohey is a good hurler and a hardy boy with an AI medal to show for it. Would start him wing-back on Saturday ahead of Linnane.

We could have been 10 down and Kilkenny would have found a way to not win it in reality

but you were complaining about the performance and individual players too tommy, you can't have it both ways, why is it ok for you to criticize but not ok for them to essentially agree with you?

I'd venture that according to you, the correct Galway team hasn't been picked for a match we have lost in your lifetime :)

Why hasn't Adrian Tuohy played more in recent years? Was he injured?

Probably around as often as we met since 96:-D

Was only replying to a lad who keeps spouting that we haven't beaten you since 96 when we hardly played you at all til the 2017 final, if we even played you at all since 96!

Where did I mention Linnane or defend Linnane? I wouldn't be starting either. Not sure why you want to drop Linnane to replace him with a lad who did the exact same thing the week before but against Carlow! Must be nice sitting at games in the press box beside Cyril listening to all his little tidbits. SamandLiamSoon (Galway) - Posts: 624 - 30/04/2024 14:01:33 2541814 Link 1 |

I remember a meeting with Galway around 2010 in the Leinster quarter final in Kilkenny. Think Galway won by about 10 points on the day

On that basis, we also won the 1985 all-ireland, and if you're unaware of that, you might like to check it out.

Whatever spouting is going on between Galway and Wexford online doesn't change the fact that KK are going for a 5 in a row! That's the real story.

I see him as a frustrating player good solid hard defender but needs to know his limitations and not be headless he's cat for going for shots and taking on his man when better off letting the ball go as he's not a great striker.

Since win v Galway in 96 the record is: Lost 2010, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2023 Drew 2019, 2022 Tbf it is quite a poor record with some heavy enough beatings in there but there was 14 years of not playing each other, which in itself was mad how managed to avoid each other, must've played every other team in Ireland about twice in those 14 years. No reason in the world to think that we won't stay bate'in Wexford for years to come. Whether we're alive or not to see it is irrelevant. Galway didn't win a minor all-ireland until 1983, and now sit near the top of the roll of honour. A stack of all ireland club titles have also been won in the same time frame. Galway have looked more like 'big3' than Cork for the last 20 years. Sorry to upset southerners with that, but it's only a fact. Limerick of course jumped straight over the 'big3' 2018-20?? to undisputed top dog status, and on into the GOAT conversation.

For sure Pope. But you have been big 3 in terms of number of hurlers and clubs since organised hurling began. Just not in Senior AIs.
