Replying To wexico15:  "We all know sometimes rumours are true and other times there nonsense but was told Henry is going to be well renumerated for the role, possibly private investment from a benefactor given your appartent financial issues at County board level would ye think if true?"
Well he'll be giving up what I imagine is a well paid job with RTE, possibly the day job as well whatever that is or maybe go part time on it. Whatever package he gets will have to at least match what he would lose in earnings. I dont have a problem with that and I dont think anyone should. How it's being paid for I have no idea , maybe Supermac has found a few quid under the mattress. I dont know the man but I have the sense that Henry wouldnt be hard to deal with on the financial side of things.

You had the facts at the same time everyone else had them?

You posted nothing that was news to anyone.

Not sure what the cab has to do with anything btw, but that's up to you I suppose

Replying To tommy k:  "Is it just me or is this similar to the way the FAI were "managing" their finances especially during the John Delaney years?"
Lots of similarities & anyone who dared question or put their head above the parapet was demonised by the puppets he installed in power at all levels & those he had as media darlings. Lots of parallels, but many in the GAA think they are untouchable & have been aided by a blind eye being turned by many institutions. Eventually however the truth outs & as we saw in the FAI, alleged fraudulent activity, alleged underhand payments to individuals, alleged cover ups at the highest levels, alleged withholding of Revenues that had taxes on them are begining to out. Eventually many of the State bodies had to act & there are serious repercussions for some coming.

I'm sure Henry will have few problems with the financial side of things.

Shefflin currently works with New Holland Finance, a subsidiary of Bank of Ireland.[17] His main area of responsibility is in the agri-business side of matters, handling the finance for all the New Holland tractor sales in the locality. His region of responsibility takes in the south-east of the country, including Tipperary, Kilkenny, Wexford, Carlow and Kildare. Wikipedia.

Replying To foreveryoung:  "I'm sure that Joe is delighted with Henry's appointment. Sure, it opens up a cushy punditry spot on RTE for him. And RTE adore Joe. Even with brother Ollie involved, they'll still bring Joe on board. That's how Joe will be contributing to the 2022 championship."
Ollie with RTÉ? Don't think so! Do I detect a bit of begrudgery, all the way from Amerikay!

Cab was meant to be cb for county board, that's predictive text for you,of course you would have to make something completely different out of it.As to me giving information that everybody already knew,I posted Shefflin was in the mix the first time it was mentioned on this forum and I told you there would be an announcement on the manager that evening which there was..No big deal but you can't argue with facts, except for yourself. You talk utter nonsense.

I'm not arguing with facts, I'm merely pointing out that you weren't telling us anything we didn't know.

Might be an idea for you to stop walloping on about it if it's not such a big deal

You keep bringing it up,so obviously this is your mentality to keep going on about it.Can't you come with something to do with hurling instead of harping on about nonsense to try and have a pop at everyone, every time they post something you don't like or disagree with.

I keep bringing what up?

Why don't you try to take your own advice?

It's tiresome reading about you going on about people going on about things. Perhaps you should, maybe, move on and quit harping?

I don't 'have a pop at everyone' btw, youre the only one here crying because someone dares to disagree with you and you haven't got the skills to debate things on a 'discussion forum'. You're telling me to 'move on' when you obviously aren't able to yourself. It's a shame really, we agree on plenty of things and you're clearly a bright individual underneath it all.

We disagree with each other, I'm not precious about it, you obviously are. Maybe you shouldn't take yourself so seriously.

No begrudgry at all. But apologies that I mixed sky up with rte down. I'm just glad to watch the games on GAAGo and don't really pay heed to where they come from.

No, Joe was one of the finest that I've ever seen play the game. But RTE do go on about him. For example, that day that he hit 5 balls over the bar from the ground on the sideline, RTE probably invented new superlatives to describe Joe's feat.

But baire, remember, that's not an issue that I have about Joe Canning. That's an issue I have about RTE.

For a 'baire' a lot seems to go past you!
