Good to see the GAA are discussing important matters at hand...

It's not the most important issue but what's the need for 'joint captains' anyway? Make one person in the team the captain as it always used to be, problem solved.

God that's one sad motion

In all honesty if Wexford won the All Ireland in the coming season, there is no way in hell anyone is going to stop Lee Chin & Matt O Hanlan lifting the trophy together. What will the Gaa do fine the county board? The most ridiculous GAA rule ever.

GAA congress is great for a lot of things. Its completely open and any club can bring a motion to it potentially but some times its ridiculous and this is one of those times.

Ya! your right, get that done. It is cynical to have two fellows taking that cup. You showed them congress how to deal with abuse in the game and how to deal with teams taking unfair advantage of their opponents.

And you need rule for that ? Was there an existing rule about receiving the cup ? Nonsense of the highest order.

As the great Mohammed Ali once said, it's not the mountains ahead to climb that wears you out it's the pebble in your shoe.

Obviously this was a big issue for some ding dong.

In all seriousness though I can't see the problem with 2 people collecting the cup, it's a team sport after all and it's hardly a health and safety issue unless they're blocking Micheál or Leo from the TV cameras.

Just to clarify if Meath won a trophy this year. No stupid nonsensical motion would stop donal keoghan and Bryan menton lifting it. Fact.
Is this really what is up there with things to do ? What bloody county or sort of gombeen thought, you know what this is of vital importance?? Ffs

With respect Mr RoyalDunne, very very little chance of Meath lifting any trophies in the immediate future. LOL.

I had a pop at Meath and Royaldunne. Not too nice. I wish Meath well, the GAA really needs a strong Meath (or Kildare) to challenge Dubs. Somewhat clumsily I would like to think Meath can put it up to Dublin in the coming years. One thing I would say is from reading some of the Meath posters, there seems to be a lot of politics going on in that county. Some deep divisions coming from the top. Dublin were like that in the 90's and 00's. But they sorted it out and are doing really well.

I don't really care either way about the rule but do wonder what the motivation is. Was there some accident caused by 2 players lifting a cup that I missed?

The "mark my words, nobody will stop X and Y lifting a cup if we won the All Ireland" remind me a lot of the promises about 10 years ago that the Hill 16 Fence would be made a mockery of once X win an All Ireland. X was Tipperary, then Dublin, then Donegal, then Clare, Galway, Limerick...I presume it's Mayo now.

What a stupid stupid motion. 2 players cannot lift the cup together (one on each side) but the whole team can come along then and lift the cup one by one in two s or threes. Its hilarious really.

This is pettiness of the highest order. There's one thing that the motion was even brought up, but then for clowns to actually vote it in.

Ahh sure it's only banter. No harm in that.
We will. But we will need to reevaluate what we doing at the moment

It's beyond ridiculous tbh , look I mean if that's what they want fair enough, but is their not more pressing issues. It's like saying only one young lad can run after the ball if it goes into terrace. Is it really that important?
