Ulster Final Donegal V Cavan

Replying To Jim_Shorts:  "Don't think Donegal will be caught on the hop tomorrow. The vast majority of Cavan fans know whats coming tomorrow bar a total collapse by Donegal. We are leaky at the back with a soft centre and although we have decent forwards, we can be hot and cold. Our problem is that we can't consistently perform for 70+ minutes. Let's just hope the 15 lads that take to the field tomorrow believe and do themselves justice.
I think what most Cavan people on here are getting annoyed about is the way some Donegal people think they're some sort of juggernaut like Dublin but I'm afraid this is not the case.
Hoping for a good performance tomorrow and that we keep Donegal to 4 or 5 points as it could potentially be much worst"
That's a fair post. Cavan are back in consecutive finals for good reason. I think Graham is a good manager who doesn't get enough credit, especially with players opting out and messing him around. Loads of potential in Cavan.

There is hardly a person in Donegal who thinks we are a juggernaut I can assure you. We are a team with very good potential in All Ireland terms, but need to walk the walk. We are strong in Ulster and 3 in a row would be superb, We are living in the midst of the greatest team ever in the Dubs so whoever takes them down, if anyone, will need to be phenomenal.

Yeah Donegal are well overrated, in my opinion a shadow of the team McGuinness had. The dubs will burn that defence alive, We can cause them trouble too if we win enough primary possession. Hopefully we can stay in the game and at least give them something to think about

Nice one Cat. If you ré a vetting man I don't think you would go for that double lol. If one of them wins it's a shock. 2 of them a miracle.

Definitely not a shadow the team McGuinness had.

I wouldn't say they're overrated at all , very strong physical team and are solid all over the field. On their day could take Dublin and it wouldn't be a surprise. Put it this way if Cavan beat Donegal that would be a much bigger surprise then if Donegal beat Dublin imo. If Donegal progress they will need their strongest 15 on the day available.
Donegal will bring much more intensity then we will have experienced this year and I think we will be forced into multiple handling error and be overturn . If this happens Donegal will capitalise and punish us on the scoreboard unfortunately.

Donegal haven't been in an All Ireland semi final since 2014 so can in no way be put in the the same sentence as Dublin. Any Donegal people talking in such a manner are losing themselves and probably fools. Certainly definitely in the minority.

All the best to the lads tomorrow. Pity we're not there to support yous but we'll all be glued in from 4 tomorrow. Genuine Donegal fans are not taking this game for granted it will be tough. The only people bumming up Donegal are the press and so called pundits. Weather looks to be good so hopefully we'll have a cracker. A lot at stake hopefully the boys will be up for it.

Sure it was the same last year. The media were building us up to be the big test for the Dubs. We couldn't even make it out of Castlebar and never got to even meet them. Many of the fans were lapping it up (RTE pundits talking about Donegal after we beat Tyrone).

We are at the identical stage this year. I don't believe that we will play badly tomorrow which gives us a strong chance of winning. Beyond that, look no further than the bookies for likelihoods.

Good luck to both teams tomorrow. I hope we have a good game with plenty of scores and we talk about the game for the right reasons afterward. I also hope that Meath gives Dublin a great game tonight!!

Exactly similar noises were getting made last year and look what happened in Castlebar. Then look at what happened to Mayo against Dublin for a real reality check. Like I said any Donegal people talking like that are foolish and likely no more than casual supporters. I for one will be leaving any talk of facing the Dubs till after the weekend and see how both teams fare.

The pundits had been saying Kerry are the team to beat the Dubs all this year, now they are saying it's Donegal. They have to make some case for the chasing bunch I suppose.
By the looks of Dublin here against Meath it will take a hell of team to beat Dublin, they aren't even being pushed here, they have plenty more in the tank.
Whether it's Donegal or Mayo that have the best chance of beating them I don't know, but that's all it will be, a chance,
10 in a row Leinster titles won tonight and most likely 6 All Irelands in a row in 4 weeks time,
hope we come through tomorrow injury free, big big game coming against the Dubs.
Donegal by 7 to 9 points at least. The Anglo Celt is coming home to the hills.

Bit of a sobering evening for those Donegal people you were referring to Jim.

Pundits always go with the safe bets. None of them gave Cork a prayer against us when any good football person knows the Kerry Cork have a big rivalry and mostly we struggle in the Páirc. We have neverbeaten them 3 times in a row there. The pundits will still go for the favourites all the time.. Reporters that did nt play County football are nearly better at breaking down games.

McMenamin as expected not in the 26 for tomorrow. Worryingly neither is Oisin Gallen.

Don't think Donegal are a juggernaut, just don't rate Ulster at the minute, expect Dublin to beat us handily

Not a great sign alright. Need every option if we are to make inroads past today. If we make it past today.

Best thing that can happen Donegal today is to a get over the line quietly , and avoid injuries.

Still a very strong and excellent Donegal team.

Expecting them to win today and could be some battle with Dublin in the semi final.

Hopefully we claim the 3 in a row. That in itself would be massive for Donegal. Looking at your lads last night Fionn and if we do win today we'd have to play better than any performance so far this year to stay competitive.
