Ulster Final Donegal V Cavan

So for the second year in a row it's Donegal v Cavan. Is it the first time that Armagh have hosted an Ulster Senior Football Final? I'd be happy enough with Donegals two performances to date however Armagh were very dissapointing yesterday so it's hard to gauge exactly how good we are at present. Cavan have shown they will play to the final whistle and the win today is massive for them so they'll be coming into next weekend with the experience of playing Donegal last year and will just have a right go at it. Donegal have dominated teams in the middle third so far this year so will be interesting to see what Cavan do there. Cavan are certainly big and strong in that sector so it could be intense. If Hugh Mc Fadden is injured then it will be a massive loss to Donegal. Overall I think we will always ship scores as our defence is light at present and injuries to Stephen Mc Menamin and Paddy Mc Grath aren't helping but we have fantastic options in the forwards and would expect us to have too much firepower for the Cavan defence to cope with. For Cavan to have any chance in this game, we simply have to play route one football like we did today. Launch it into Madden and live off the scraps. Teams don't like defending a high ball into the square, and it pays dividends for us as Madden and Galligan both have a solid pair of hands. If we play for 70 minutes and not merely for 35 like we have done in each game so far, I'd give us a chance. Last year nerves and expectation hampered us undoubtedly. So you never know. The west of the province (Enniskillen, Omagh) always struggle to have good pitches this time of year; if Armagh is bad then those would almost be unplayable. Clones doesn't have floodlights and I don't think you can take Donegal to Newry or Cavan to Derry? It's also unlikely Donegal would want to give home advantage to Cavan. Therefore it's hard to imagine the game will be moved as I think the Armagh pitch whilst not perfect will be the best location/playable pitch available in the province. FAKE NEWS ALERT, Mickey did not mean that, it was just a slip of the tongue, right before that he said they were coming up against one of the top 2 teams in the country who taught them a lesson on how to play football last year. It's back in Armagh again. The pitch didn't look great in the second half.. Anyways hopefully Cavan can compete. Can't be relying on playing in one half. The Ulster final last year was over at half time. Give a better account then what Armagh did, and somethings to build for next year.
