Dublin V Kilkenny Leinster Semi Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Cannot see anything other than a Kilkenny win here.
Ok, Dubs have a game in the bag but Kilkenny will be a big step up from Laois. I'd be surprised if they don't win by 7 plus points.

Crummey is arguably the best number 5 in the game and they need him there with Reid lurking around that area. Who am I to question a manager like Mattie Kenny but with some changes and Liam Rushe camped on the edge of the square, I'd fancy Dublin to win. KK don't have a full back capable of marking Rushe if hes anywhere near fit."
You are spot on - Crummey and Moran need to move back - Rushe at FF as it doesnt look like he has the legs for Half Back anymore.

I think crummey gives them a good option on the 40 or edge of the square big man and athletic, he will cause trouble for Kilkenny. With them playing 7 in defense he might not be missed and be a good target man for them.

Match day is here. I'm going out on a limb here and predicting the Dubs to cause an upset today.

Cannot wait for the game and the nerves are already at me.

Christ a fine effort after being scalped in the first half, positive show in fairness.

Sick after that. Management so many things wrong. Rushe shouldn't have started. He's finished, and hasn't started a game fir Dublin in years. Trollier should have been on from the start. And the biggest mistake of all was going man on man from the start. It took us to go 8 points down until we adopted a sweeper role.

Anyway I was completely deflated at HT, but at least after that comeback I'm feeling a little bit more optimistic about the qualifiers.

KK looked awesome in the 1st half. Game lost all shape in the 2nd half which helped Dublin get back into it. They'll learn a lot from this but Cody will be left scratching his head.

Great 2nd half performance from Dublin and unlucky not to get a draw. It will give them confidence now in the qualifiers and I'm sure Kilkenny would nt like to face them again.

Didn't start hurling until the game was over. Typical 'brave effort' bollix.

KK nowhere near Tipp or Limerick imo.

You could be right. But Tipp have yet to play. This was Kilkenny's first game; they will surely learn and come on from this, as will Dublin. It's a strange Championship this year. I think any of 6 or 7 teams could win. And. Dublin will have a second bite at the cherry.

I think he's only play one club championship game. St. Pats Palmerstown couldn't complete all of their games.

It's good for the game...Kilkenny were dominant for so long the Hurling became predictable and boring. Do t take this the wrong way but hopefully Dublin's dominance is broken soon.

To be honest I was so deflated after the Dubs game I didn't watch Galway v Wexford.

Yeah everyone, myself included, seems to be forgetting about Galway.

Ah yeah I think Kilkenny showed against Limerick last year that they have a puncher's chance against anyone.

I was perhaps a little premature with my comment yesterday but I do think Limerick and Tipp are the two top teams.

If fit, Trollier always has to start, he causes so many issues for the opposition defence. Big mistake by Kenny not having him in from the start yesterday.

Limerick had a bad start and they nearly caught up with KK. Same happened with Dublin yesterday. KK shouldn't be losing 9 and 16 point leads.

Only if it is broken by several teams and not just Kerry. Hurling is great because of how competitive it is at the top level. Football will continue to suffer if Kerry and Dublin exchange the title every year. That's why I hope Tipp or KK don't win this year. Football just needs to remove the weaker teams and make it harder for the top teams to win.

Completely agree. For me, he's our most dangerous forward, period!!!

Ah yeah variety is good, in the last 21 championships 16 football titles have gone to 3 counties.

I totally understand how a non Dublin win in the football this year would be good, it'll probably go to one of the other 2 counties though!
