I don't see it being quality" No true I respect your opinion as well Jimbodub! You may be correct but I think tactical systems have destroyed the quality of the football championship to some extent. This is a unique year and I can see players just playing off the cuff. For that reason I can see a lot of quality coming through. I also believe when the championship starts and the Donegal v Tyrone is the perfect start it will build momentun amongst fans/teams/players/media. I can understand people's worries at this time and a lot of ye are looking down the road and hoping for better times ahead but there's no guarantee that things will be better in 6 months the Government NEPHET and the media all say we have to learn to live with Covid so is this not what our footballers and hurlers are trying to do? At the end of the day none of these players are contracted to their counties and nobody has a gun to anyones head, if they dont want to play I'm sure there are plenty who'll take their place. Young athletes in their prime should be out playing sport, it is their choice. Finish the league and any tournament that was started in the spring. The virus will be with us for years don't forget, we have to live with it. If things get worse Govt. will go to level 5. Hmm not sure about that like. NPHET have been recommending level 5 for a week now. There's times to live more normally and times when we need to be more cautious. This is a time to be more cautious. I do wonder why our testing capacity hasn't been worked on harder. Even when there's a vaccine, it sounds like it's not just going to be a miraculous fix all and there's going to still need to be better testing to get back to proper living. We may be able to live with it but we're not in a position to do it now. People's behaviour can't go back to before March, which I think some thought would happen after lockdown ended. But I think Nphet would say that we will have to live with the virus for a long time to come in that the availability of a vaccine isn't going to mean that we will be able to go back to our pre-Covid "normal". We are going to have to live with the "new normal" of increased precautions and some lower restrictions for a considerable period into the future even when a vaccine becomes widely available. I found it hard to get into the games this weekend. I watched the Dubs last night and struggled to get interested to be honest. There was a feeling of pantomime about it as this weekend could be the last we see depending on how cases go and what decisions are made tomorrow. It could be devalued if a few teams are missing lots of players. Otherwise, I'm delighted there's any football at all. I watched a lot of the Tyrone and Fermanagh club championship games online and on TV, and they were the screen highlights of my year tbh. A good county run would be a great bonus.
