78,000 at an aussie rules game this morning. Boy was I envious."
Not easy but very doable. Hey I hate it too but am trying to suggest solutions not roadblocks. I can't wait for packed venues again. Galway Abu!

I can see them allowing crowds back before the All Ireland finals but even if they have masks and temp checks, I think would see the hill would be a step too far. However time is a great healer and who knows in August.

Yeah you're probably right about Hill 16. Probably not likely.

Leinster's proposal to host 2000 fans safely next month has also been turned down unfortunately.

Not a good sign at all. You'd think 2000 could be spread out far and wide.

What a pity the leinster idea is turned down..I get the impression from our government leaders and health experts they want to keep us all locked up and away from any form of enjoyment..any idea put forward by hotels, bars, restaurants or sporting bodies is being turned down..

Maybe it's fear of it being used against them in future elections. Who knows what's behind it. It really IS a shame.

It's Leinster Rugby so the optics just wouldn't look good and too easy to create a false narrative around it.

If there are no crowds allowed in Croke Park for the All Ireland finals in August I'll be shocked. Surly even 10k will be allowed?

Remember by August every European country will be filling stadiums. Premier league games next year will be packed out.

More likely imo that at this point in time with most (if not all) vulnerable groups vaccinated and with the vaccine roll out beginning to pick up pace, taking the over cautious approach will be used against the government in a future election.

Depends on who controls the narrative....usually it's the media.

I'm hoping Donegal and Dublin will be allocated at least 10,000 tickets each for the final!!!
Plenty of room in Croker for more and by then most of the people over 18 who are willing to take a vaccine will be vaccinated I'd imagine.
Could happen in Ulster that they are allow some fans in to games in the 6 counties and the rest of Ulster can't allow fans in.

I may be alone but I think the government have done a fantastic job in controlling this virus. Taoiseach Martin and Minister Donnelly have been superb in very trying circumstances and I really feel history will judge them kindly. Who could have done any better? Sometimes real leaders need to make some unpopular decisions.

Like most people, they put on their trousers one leg at a time, and we should remember this going forward.

Donnelly hasnt been superb at all. He has been very poor actually when you look at his decision making, his media performances, policy proposals.
He's very poor and will likely be removed as soon as possible when Martin thinks he can do it and we are out of this crisis

Well he has been a better minister than Harris who has made a complete mess of every single department he has been in but sure the pr machine spins it so that nobody notices- he is not doing much in the made up portfolio now either
