David Moran gave a exhibition of high fielding last sunday. Cleaned fenton while at. Done same to Aidan O'Shea, Brian Menton and Coml Cavanagh throughout the year. >Is there a better midfielder in the country? Would rate him above Mick O'Connell, Jack O'Shea and Darragh O'Se as kerry greatest midfielder of all time. kerryforsam19 (Kerry) - Posts: 95 - 05/09/2019 12:49:53 2233007 Link 0 |
Ah God no. You're losing the run of yourself. Especially with regards to Kerry legends O'Shea and O'Connell. Moran has been on the scene since 2008 and intermittently contributed to Kerry seniors in any real way. Injuries have been a problem. Also he hasn't the athleticism of Jacko to influence game after game, and for a full game. He has a few good games every 3 years or so.

There is no way that opening post is a Kerry man anyway! TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 05/09/2019 13:15:58 2233020 Link 5 |

Fenton has shown himself to be the best in the country for the last few years. Moran is a tremoundous player on his day, vital to us and great to watch but injury has hampered him. His mother wouldn't even rate him ahead of those Kerry players but if you think so then fair enough-) KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 05/09/2019 13:43:51 2233032 Link 3 |
people say fenton is best ever and he is obviously very good, but he is playing in a brilliant team. hard to compare but moran defo got better of him last day

Yes you make a good point. If Moran was on this Dublin team the last few years he would look alot better. He has put in a massive shift for Kerry over the last while as we have been short on midfielders for some time so the focus on him is huge. Yes hard to compare given the difference in the standard of both teams until this year but you still would have to go with Fenton from what I have seen but we are more then happy with Moran. What a way to expose yourself as definitely not being from Kerry hahaha JoeSoap (Donegal) - Posts: 1432 - 05/09/2019 14:28:26 2233046 Link 1 |
I was thinking the very same thing the hermit, he's coming out with some quare stuff over the last few weeks, I doubt he's from Kerry plus he doesn't contribute on our home page either.

I think that may be a simplistic view. Great teams contain great players. Sometimes players in weak teams appear to be great because others aren't doing it. Moran is top class. Will be interesting to see who comes out on top on Sat week.

No doubting Fenton is right in the mix for best player in the game but if one of Fenton or McCaffrey were to miss the replay for whatever reason which would you be willing to do without first?

Fenton has proven himself to be the best over the past four years there really isn't much of a debate to be had in my view. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 2105 - 05/09/2019 18:11:59 2233115 Link 9 |
Moran is a great midfielder but in fairness to Fenton, that was the only game where he hasn't performed since the drive for 5 began. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8592 - 05/09/2019 18:30:50 2233118 Link 6 |
Sooner be without Jack Fenton is the best Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 05/09/2019 18:39:26 2233120 Link 0 |
He wasn't the best last Sunday. Some rumours he was injured.Fenton will be looking for a big performance in the replay.David Moran was on the Kerry minor team beaten by Roscommon in the replayed All -Ireland Final of 2006. 31 years of age now,he's been a great player for his county.

At least you've moved on from your "Cluxton is Dublin's greatest ever player" nonsense. Only took you a decade.

Yet another stupid thread that proclaims a player as the best of all time on the strength of one performance. I could paper the walls with these down the years. MuckrossHead (Donegal) - Posts: 5028 - 05/09/2019 21:38:28 2233152 Link 3 |
