Mayo V Galway

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Obviously the stand out fixture , a knock out game between Connaught's two biggest rivals it's going to be epic, Galway in a bad place after Roscommon game but could have Big Damo back Mayo in a good place after the Armagh game but likely to be without Keegan and Maybe Doherty, huge game can't wait for it.

Damo might be available but way off match fitness or sharpness. Not the easiest game to come back to. This will make or break KW. He needs to go for it with a full press and at least then we will have died with our boots on if it ends in defeat.

Comer has played a grand total of 10 minutes of football all year. No chance he is back for this.

Where will this game be played? I understood that the Hyde is out of commission after the Connacht final as its under construction. Coin flip between Salthill and Castlebar?

This game is not under the Connacht councils control

Perhaps Gaelic Grounds in Limerick if the Hyde is out of action, which I doubt it is.

Be a close game 2 evenly matched teams both teams have injuries and an important player each in comer and COC only back from injury and neither fully match fit ,I'm just giving Galway the nod in a tight tense game

I'd say it will be in the Hyde ,Hyde couldn't be used for a Connaught final but can be used for other games ,Roscommon v Tyrone /cavan will be played in the Hyde

Does it not seem utterly stupid that Hyde Park was deemed unsuitable for a potential replay of a Connacht Final and yet could be deemed suitable for a Round 4 qualifier with Mayo and Galway, a game that could possibly draw more of a crowd that was actually at the Connacht Final

Ya but alot of the decisions the gaa makes are utterly stupid ,hearing a bit of talk now that the game could be in Limerick so will see soon enough

would depend on how super 8 went. Are they seriously gonna sack KW if he beats Mayo and Kerry and then lost to dubs in a close game? Highly unlikely.

That said if they lose he will likely call it a day himself.

Apparently John Prenty wasn't happy for a Connacht game to hold there because of safety reasons. But yes, strange then could be used for a qualifier game. I hope it's in The Hyde and not Limerick.

Ha ha you have to love the GAA. Wouldn't be surprised if they go for a double header in Croke Park, Tyrone v Cavan and Mayo v Galway.

The Hyde is perfectly capable of hosting this game. And we'd put on a huge welcome for our Connacht neighbours too. Traffic not an issue..perfect match location imo...JUST GET IT ON IN THE HYDE

And the rest of the Mayo population are paying rent in Galway.
