56,000 at the 4 hurling matches was decent. Tyrone v Derry was good too considering Derry were Div 4. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 13/05/2019 14:15:53 2183668 Link 7 |

Not one at estimating what attendances were, but very poor crowd in Wexford Park. Prob 50/50 Louth and Wexford

The crowd at the Galway Wexford match was very good considering the Wexford support didn't travel. Dont blame the Wexford support for staying at home....it's a long journey and a 4pm throw in meant many of them would be lucky to get home by 11pm considering there would be no point getting on the road until about 7pm in order to let the traffic congestion clear a bit. And accommodation in Galway city on a Saturday night is neither cheap nor in plentiful supply between May and September.

It is some drive to Galway from Wexford, look at a map. And getting to Galway is half the battle, getting to the ground is the other half. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1824 - 27/05/2019 11:29:18 2188048 Link 1 |
Shocking attendance in portlaoise. But we all know why. Time for the GAA to invest massively in underage for all counties across leinster. They need to start addressing the imbalance they created. Attendances will then naturally rise. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 27/05/2019 13:24:00 2188108 Link 9 |

There was more at a Connacht 1st round game between two of the least populated counties in the country , Roscommon and Leitrim , than the combined total of the two Munster semi-finals. Munster football looks like a basket case from all sorts of angles. facethepuckout (Roscommon) - Posts: 219 - 04/06/2019 21:43:45 2190672 Link 1 |
I was in Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday night. The second half of the Champions League was always kicking off at 9pm. If Ennis had floodlights, 8pm throw-in would have been fine as well. Is mise le meas, The Legend. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8766 - 04/06/2019 22:26:49 2190691 Link 0 |
26,500 at Cork v Waterford. That's a fantastic turnout. The Deise haven't won a championship match in 2 years and with nothing to play for a tiny crowd travelled. That makes corks turnout all the better. There were years when a knockout munster quarter or semi final would attract less then that.
