Huge credit to Lavin for keeping Dardis quiet! Dunboyne very worthy winners today. Looking forward to watching them in Leinster. Game could have went either way and it was a fortunate enough goal that won it for Dunboyne. Thought the ref gave a lot of very soft frees to both teams. Well done to Dunboyne. Thought the game could have gone either way until the goal went in. Summerhill continuously playing high ball in to their forwards was a mistake. I agree it was a good enjoyable game, (not a classic) but good. which sometimes in finals isn't always the case. I thought it was a bit naive of Summerhill to keep persisting with the high ball when it wasn't working all that well, look the constant high ball has had its day even in club football particularly at this level, it's easily nullified, now the odd one is perfect and mixes things up a bit. Again lavin is becoming a really great back and I'm sure Andy will bring Finn back into panel. I am looking forward to seeing Dunboyne in Leinster and hopefully getting a match in navan against dubs champs , which we should turn into a fortress. It was a tight game, that didn't have a high skill level, but there was a lot of honest hard work by both and some really good individual and team defending by Dunboyne, that was sometimes made easy by the poor kicks in to the Summerhill forwards, and that was played by two teams who looked very nervous. A lot of poor handling and kicking by both teams but in particular by Summerhill. Both played a similar game with a transition game plan but Dunboyne moved the ball much faster and had more bodies around the middle to link the play, David Larkin for Summerhill was winning the ball in his own full back line nearly and the closest Summerhill players ahead of him were Davy Dalton and Barry Dardis way up in the full forward line. Seamus Lavin was excellent for Dunboyne, as he gave Barry Dardis no space to run at him at all and restricted him to shots under pressure. The shooting from play by both teams was poor with a lot of shots just skying up in the air. Dunboyne were the better team on the day and deserved there win. Congratulations to Dunboyne on their victory yesterday, they're very worthy champions. It's been a very tough year for them off the pitch but on it they've had a season to remember. But can people please forget about talking about them playing the Dublin champs. In 2 weeks they've a difficult task in Wexford against the Wexford winners. Well done to Dunboyne, I thought they were the better team throughout but failed to make it count on the scoreboard. The goal was huge, it ended Summerhill's chances, and hard luck to them, they've lost 2 in a row now and that's hard to take. Leinster will be very tough, we know that Meath teams haven't got a great record, certainly not of late but look, let's just get behind them anyway and see how they do. The two big positives for me were Dunboyne winning it for Sean Cox and David Gallagher winning his third SFC 20 years after his first. A real unsung hero. Shaw was a fine player at Minor and did really well last year - perhaps he was carrying a knock - surprised he didn't get on until very late in the game. Replying To Analyst: "I wouldn't look past Wexford champs to be honest" Wexford probably have the weakest senior club championship in Leinster. When you see St James Ramsgrange coming up from intermediate and winning the senior in their first year. Kilanerin are very close to doing the same. In 2016, the Wexford senior champions were beaten by 30 odd points in a provincial match. Last year, Simonstown were worthy winners over the Wexford champions.
