Rathgormack are Waterford senior football champions for the third year in-a-row after defeating The Nire by 1-12 to 1-10 at Fraher Field this afternoon.
Having landed the first two points of this decider in Dungarvan, the defending champions saw their lead wiped out by a Dylan Guiry goal in the sixth minute.

Led by ‘Man of the Match’ Glen Power (0-3) at wing back, Rathgormack battled back to level before falling two behind and then hitting the net via ace attacker Jason Curry on the eve of half-time to take in a 1-5 to 1-4 advantage.
The Nire levelled early in the second-half before moving a point up again and, from there, it was nip and tuck until the last whistle with Rathgormack able to summon a big finish, which included a superb Billy Power point and then one from full-back Willie Hahessy to retain their title and record a 13th county SFC success overall.
