Dingle retained their Kerry Division 1 League status by the skin of their teeth last weekend.

The All-Ireland club winners’ dramatic 2-15 to 2-14 victory over Kenmare Shamrocks – who were already crowned champions – coupled with Glenflesk’s 1-25 to 1-15 defeat of Kerins O’Rahilly’s, saw the Tralee outfit make the drop instead along with Beaufort and Rathmore.

Dingle appeared destined for relegation when they trailed by 1-4 to 2-8 early in the second half, but they staged a stirring comeback which culminated in Cathal Bambury scoring the winner from a free with three minutes remaining.

Laune Rangers have been promoted to the top-flight as Division 2 champions and are joined by Glenbeigh/Glencar and Templenoe, while Keel, St Mary’s, Cahirciveen and Milltown/Castlemaine are relegated and will be replaced in Division 2 next year by Division 3 winners Listry along with Na Gaeil and Churchill.
