'If we breached, we breached'

Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney wasn’t making an issue of a breach call which cost his side dearly for the second game in-a-row.

With the Orchard County storming back into contention after trailing Roscommon by 12 points at half-time in Dr Hyde Park, Ross McQuillan had a goal disallowed and Diarmuid Murtagh tapped over the 20-metre free at the other end in what was a massive four-point swing.

McGeeney was highly critical after Armagh were similarly punished against Galway, but wasn’t sure if it was a breach on this occasion.

"If we breached, we breached. I don’t know,” he told RTÉ.

After losing the midfield battle in the first half, Armagh turned the tables somewhat after the restart.

"I thought our kickouts were poor in the first half. We competed well in the second half, but Blaine (Hughes) himself knew he skewed a few,” McGeeney reflected.

“It’s not like him. In the second half he was himself. It’s a good sign that he can turn it around like that, he didn’t let it get in on top of him."
