Kelly quads win Offaly Cumann na mBunscol title

The Kelly quads from Kilclonfert, James, Luke, Charlie and Tom, after helping Cappagh NS to victory in the Offaly Cumann na mBunscol Division 3 football final last week.

Back in February 2015, Anita and David Kelly from Co. Offaly were thrust into the national spotlight following the birth of their quadruplet boys, James, Luke, Charlie and Tom.

Fast-forward 11 years and the quads are now up-and-coming footballers with Kilclonfert, a small junior club straddling the Westmeath-border. And they got their first taste of success last week when helping Cappagh NS to victory over Cloneygowan NS in the Offaly Cumann na mBunscol Boys’ Football ‘C’ final, with James as captain.

Coming from a family steeped in the GAA - recently-departed Offaly senior football co-manager Declan Kelly is closely related to them - it was inevitable that the quads would pick up a football. We will watch their progress with great interest over the coming years!
