Cork football boss John Cleary has confirmed experienced defender Matty Taylor will miss the Rebels' Allianz FL Division 2 final against Meath this Sunday, as well as the team’s entire Munster championship campaign through injury.

Taylor suffered a broken collarbone during the Leesiders’ league victory over Kildare two weeks ago, forcing him to miss the team’s promotion-clinching win over Tyrone last Sunday.

Speaking to EchoLive.ie this week, Cleary confirmed that Taylor will be out of action until the All-Ireland series as a result, while fellow defender Sean Brady and forward Cathail O’Mahony are also current injury concerns within his squad.

“Matty Taylor is out for Sunday, he'll miss the Munster championship as well, unfortunately. He broke his collarbone against Kildare, and Sean Brady probably won't make the weekend, and Cathail O'Mahony has a hamstring injury as well.

“Cathail had a quad injury and he has a hamstring now, so yeah, it's not the same injury. He should be back for the championship, he's just missing on Sunday.”
