The Monaghan champions increased their five point half-time lead to 0-9 to 0-1 early in the second-half before their Mourne County counterparts cut their deficit down to one.

Rory Beggan curled over a brilliant free from beyond the arc to steady Scotstown’s ship (0-12 to 0-9), but the Magpies grabbed the last two scores via Niall Kane (two-pointer) and this single from Callum Rodgers (watch below) to ensure that added periods would be required at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.
