Five football and hurling greats have been inducted into the Croke Park Museum Hall of Fame.
Football legends Martin McHugh (Donegal) and Tony Scullion (Derry), hurling icons Liam Fennelly (Kilkenny) and Joe Dooley (Offaly) along with the late, great Cork dual star Teddy McCarthy were honoured at a special ceremony in Croke Park on Monday night.
McHugh was an integral part of the first Donegal team to lift the Sam Maguire in 1992, while defensive lynchpin Scullion was to the fore when Derry made a similar breakthrough 12 months later.
Members of two of hurling's most famous families, Fennelly and Dooley each won three All-Ireland SHC medals and also enjoyed tremendous club success. Meanwhile, Teddy McCarthy has been immortalised as the first and only player in the history of the GAA to win All-Ireland SHC and SFC titles in the same year when Cork did the double in 1990.
