Ryan O’Toole will be available for Scotstown’s Ulster club SFC semi-final re-fixture against Newbridge on Sunday.

The defender was suspended for last Sunday’s abandoned game in Omagh after being red-carded in the quarter-final against Naomh Conaill. Scotstown subsequently sought clarification over whether O’Toole was deemed to have served his suspension, and were informed that he had and therefore would be eligible to play in the re-fixture at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

The Monaghan champions were leading by 1-4 to 0-3 when referee Joe McQuillan decided to call a halt to proceedings at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch at O’Neills Healy Park.

Speaking afterwards, Scotstown manager David McCague wasn’t sure if O’Toole would be allowed to play in the refixture.

“Ryan O'Toole got a match suspension, that match started today, it didn't finish today and I suppose the members of the (Ulster) CCC would have to make a decision on that,” he said.
