Replying To Pikeman96:  "@Viking66 - I happen to know the man who looks after the website and social media end of things, and get a lot of information from him. As an aside, I've sometimes got the impression that you even think I'm that person myself!

Anyway, asked him about this earlier in the year. Turns out that all the info on the results/fixtures/tables section of the website is pulled in from a central system in Croke Park. It's not the case, as I and probably many others would have assumed, that somebody in Wexford inputs all the details directly to the Wexford GAA site.

Instead, they create the various competitions on the Croke Park system and put in fixtures details there. Referees have a way of submitting results directly to that system after each match, and the system itself then updates the tables, etc.

Seems Croke Park changed their system last winter from whatever they used before to a new one built on Foireann. The software Wexford had for pulling in the data from the old one wouldn't work the new one, and getting something new written to replicate how the Wexford side always worked and looked would have cost tonnes of money, so they instead went with that system we have now and which about 20 other counties were already using.

I got the distinct impression they weren't exactly 100% happy with it themselves, but I suppose the main point is looks like the change was forced on them, rather than being a deliberate decision to move to something they thought would be "better"."
That man, who may or may not be you, Monageer and Ferns not being a huge distance apart ;-),told me similar. Many referees likewise. Many clubs around the country also use the system we now have, Martins being the nearest to me!
It doesn't mean any of us have to like it though!!!!!

I might not be from Monageer either. Or not any more anyway. That's all I'm saying. ;)

Senior
Rathnure to win a close game. Rory absence to be the difference.
Shels v gorey, to be honest very close to call, but I think shels by point or two.

Intermediate
Askamore v Davidstown:
Very close, possibly Davidstown by point or two
Cloughbawn v st james:
I think if cloughbawn are off at all(and they could be, 4 week in a row and playing football as well)I fancy St James to sneak it, but cloughbawn do have the better team, I just think they could be caught so St james by 2.

Intermediate A
I fancy gusserane to win it out.

Really hard to call the games. I think whoever wins between Martins and Rathnure will win Senior this year, but can't make my mind up who that will be.
Think Shels will beat Gorey, but only because they look fitter. Still think Gorey are underachieving with the hurlers they have.
Likewise in Intermediate I think whoever wins between Cloughbawn and the Jimmy's will win Intermediate. I do think Cloughbawn should win, but theres always a part of me that doesn't write St James off.
I think Davidstown will put massive pressure on Askamores forwards, I think they will win, but wouldn't be shocked if Askamore do either.
Fancy Gusserane to win Intermediate A, did from the start, and with their surprise loss in the Football I think they won't be stopped now.
Shels should beat Adamstown, but if the lads up the road turn it into a dogfight will the Shels be able for it?

Senior
Rathnure st Martins . Rathnure have big advantage on the dual clubs, training, rest and recovery etc. Martins will be determined to hold on to their crown though. Rathnure by 3.

Shels Gorey. As above will playing last week take a toll on shels. Gorey inconsistent but have more scoring potential. Gorey by 2.

Intermediate
Cloughbawn st James. Cloughbawn by 4
Davidstown askamore. Askamore by 3.

I think the Martins beat rathnure!! For me and I said it here before the rathnure back are not good enough to hold martins simple and thats why they play sweeper,I think rathnure and martins are obviously ahead of everyone else,I think the Martins are better team and I dont think rathnure can beat the martin with a sweeper but can beat nearly everyone else in the county because the standard is so poor!! Martins can adapt to everything at the minute and just have to many good players, more than rathnure!! I think the Martins win this with a bit to spare!!

Gorey beat the shels for me,I think the shels are steady enough but just missing a forward or 2 to get to final,if banville is held I think they struggle big time ,i see gorey having more options in the forwards and x factor players in mac and dundar!! I felt at the start of championship gorey were trying out things like sweeper using jack Cullen and some key players playing out of position which really didnt suit them and they started slow!! I think they have there team out properly now and I think they are coming good at the right time!! Gorey by 5-6

Think cloughbawn should really win the intermediate now

Hard to see Rathnure causing an upset tomorrow. I think the Martins will have too much overall strength and having won Leinster last year will be brimful with confidence.
Yes Rory is a big loss but their panel is very strong.
Rathnure will no doubt throw everything including the kitchen sink at them and I give them a small chance of victory but it's the Martins for me by 6 points.
Gorey v Shels.
This could go either way and I expect a very close hard fought game.
I don't know why but I just have a feeling that Shels might scrape over the line tomorrow, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gorey get through.

Do any of you know which match is forecast to be on before the senior hurling final in Wexford?
I will need to get to a match in Tipp, will likely have some friends playing in 2 of the adult county finals in Wexford and have a friend and cousin running the Dublin City Marathon all in 24 hours. Want to plan ahead.
Has it been decided yet?

The last couple of years the Intermediate A final was on 1st. In 2023 Gorey played Ballyhogue in the Junior A final before their Senior final against Oylegate. In 2022 the Junior final was before the Senior final. There was an Intermediate double header that year. Horeswood won Intermediate A before we lost to Oulart in Intermediate that year. Absolutely no idea if it will be Intermediate A again this year, it likely will depend on which teams make the finals.

As Viking says above, will likely depend on what teams make finals, particularly if one club makes two or more finals (e.g. Rathnure could still be in two, Gorey could be in three) and what it suits to play together.

For the football, the fixtures for the finals were sent to clubs on the Sunday night after the semi-finals, and fairly sure they went on the website on the Monday, or the Tuesday at the latest. You should have your answer then.
