Replying To alwaysasub:  "I said in my post that I didn't have any solutions so not sure what you are getting at. I don't think anyone in our club would have any interest in this promotion which would be mainly Hurling, great to hear that there will be hundreds of these in your club filled out!, must be great club! My point is in trying to entice people like in my own club who Wouldn't have much interest in supporting the footballers to try and get them in and this does nothing for that."
In fairness, I don't think the other poster meant that his own club would have hundreds of these tickets filled out. Just that there'll be hundreds of them altogether.

Don't know either what sort of enticement you expect or think is possible for people like the ones you speak of in your own club? And seems you don't know either. Anyway, can't help thinking myself that if they're used to paying €20 for a Hurling League match and €5 each for the children, then the fact that it's just €12 for a Football League match and free for children is already a significant reduction and "enticement".

And think it was Viking who pointed out that Wexford don't set the prices themselves for League matches, and in fact, have nothing to do with the ticketing arrangements at all. They don't have stacks of free or subsidised tickets to hand out.

Replying To Viking66:  "Average attendance at Football matches in the Park is 700"
but there is still a risk that there may be more people attending a Football league game this weekend than a Hurling one :)
The only concern is that in the past we have built ourselves up only to go out and just on perform on the day.

Replying To tearintom:  "To be fair i think its a good move by the county board, they are limited in what they can do with tickets etc.

And I believe all the underage football squads are being brought to the park and the winners of the keevans Cup finals will receive their trophies before the game also.

Its a good move all round"
That all sounds good too!!

Didn't look great when coming off last Sunday, I'd be surprised. Would be a big big loss.

As I can't travel to the game on Sunday, I am looking forward to seeing it on the Tg4 app.
It's going to be difficult to get a win but the team has come on in leaps and bounds in recent times and they are well capable of causing a shock.
Westmeath, same as Down were a division 2 side last year and are favourites to go straight back up.
According to reports we are the leading county for scoring 2 pointers out of 32 counties. That is some record.
I feel that Westmeath may be a step too far for this up and coming team but even if we lose we will still have opened a lot of eyes in the football world and by keeping our status in division 3 we will have done our county proud.
Verdict -- westmeath to win by 3 points.
I sincerely hope and pray that I am wrong.

Wouldn't agree at all, they have lost two games as well in let be honest one of the poorest division 3 league for a few years (apart from Down).i fully expect Wexfors to win today.

The most joyous day as a Wexford fan since 2019 Leinster final. What a way to win it too.

Credit to the lads, I was worried when Westmeath scored that rasper goal, but they pretty much dominated thereafter. Cut out the defensive errors, and although a lot of our key forwards weren't firing on all cylinders, we collectively as a unit were excellent.

Well done lads, absolutely amazing achievement from where we were rooted in Division Four for too long.

Unbelievable

Dead and buried but refused to die and go away.

What a finish.

Looked done and dusted in the last few minutes.
I couldn't see a way back. Nobody envisaged the finish that was to come. The lads never panicked and kept their composure.
Mini Ryan with 2 majors was superb and it was a clever move by Hegarty to bring him in for the 2nd half. Yeah, an incredible game which westmeath were in control of for most of the 70 minutes.
We however got the vital scores at the death and when that goal went in from Ryan with 3 seconds left on the clock the crowd went bananas.
Wow! Divison 2 here we come.

We did. And great credit to the lads to make a sensational come back. I still can't believe it.

Congratulations to all Wexford football supporters on a wonderful promotion, always well received when we have been down in Wexford Park in recent years.

Back to back promotions, great chance in Croker next weekend. Mightve happened sooner but for a controversial Leitrim goal in Carrick two years ago.

Great example for any county toiling in Div 4 of what can be achieved.

Enjoy next weekend and best of luck in Leinster.

Fair play Wexford that's a great win today and to get up to Div 2 is a simply fantastic achievement. From Div 4 last year ye are in inspiration now to Carlow.

Astonishing finish. Delighted for them as they have had some tough losses. Didn't play well today but never gave up the fight, getting to Div 2 is a huge achievement, well done men!

Lads does that mean we are in the all ireland series now or do we have to wait and see how provincials play out?
