The 1967 war was started by Israel in what they called a preemptive strike similar to their attack on Iran last year regarding nuclear weapons . Israel makes up the law as they go along. An Arab attack on Israel was not imminent they were building their armies but had no immediate attack plans on Israel. Israel in essence should never have been created in the first place. This Board of Peace doesn't come cheap. To be a permanent member the fee is $1 bn. If not you get a 3 yr term.

Completely agree. It's an awkward position for Irish folks to be in but unfortunately it is what it is. Not that it's likely to happen any time soon, but if we were to pivot completely away from the US and the EU, we'd be like Albania under Hoxoa, or Europe's North Korea. Ok, maybe not quite as bad as that. But our lives would be fundamentally different. I think it's fair to say that the vast majority of Irish people are living relatively comfortable lives and would not welcome such an uprooting. It's one thing agitating and demonstarting on social media, or joining the odd protest march here and there. Quite another to fully put your money where your mouth is. Not a dig at you by the way - you come across as a fairly genuine socialist. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 10206 - 22/01/2026 14:54:32 2652514 Link 0 |

They had a poll in Greenland to ask the people. 85% of people don't want to be part of the U.S. 9 % undecided. But you read a post on here somewhere saying they are not happy. Amazing.

Yes I would definitely be a Socialist because I think the greed and wealth disparities under capitalism are too vast . Socialism is very good system and can work well China is booming but I accept it failed in the USSR probably it was not implemented well there as it collapsed. The concept of socialism is just. Capitalism in China with a population of over one billion would be a bad fit given the wealth disparities it creates if the elite had all the money there could be widespread poverty.
