Blayney and Killanny played out the game of the weekend. Brutal start by blayney conceding 3 goals in the first 10 minutes but was very impressed by their response, especially after going a man down they really went for it. Mark treanor and dermot malone reeling back the years with great performances. Ronan grime's extremely impressive scoring 1-3 from wing back, surely gabriel gives him a proper go in the team as he was an exceptional minor and u20 player and doesn't seem to have went backwards. Dean connolly impressive in midfield also and Eddie walsh as accurate as ever. Two teams who will hope to have a big say come business end of the championship. People making jokes about Corduff dipping into the transfer market again for next season. The sad thing is, they most likely will be. I'd be amazed if we didn't see another transfer in next year. All the talk coming into the game was of Corduff and Jason McGee which suited Clontibret down to the ground. Much credit to Francis Hughes who much like he did against Tommy Durnin last year, spoiled the party in midfield and won his battle with McGee. Brian Greenan also excellent. It makes for a very strong Clontibret midfield. They are the only team in the county that can compete (to some degree) with Scotstown in terms of sheer size and quality around the middle third. Killian Lavelle was best player on the pitch. Also, how awesome it is to see Mansy still skinning defenders. Listening to northern sound afterwards, a unique moment to come from the game was that Dessie Mone started the game alongside his 17 year old nephew Charlie. Has MP O'Dowd transferred elsewhere?
