Never questioned the talent of the the greatness football team ever; Dublin. Suggested in my previous post that I expect Dublin to win leinster at least, this year. You are right. I am sure that the many Dublin coaches mentioned by Ger Brennan yesterday should be able to source a bit of talent from the population of county Dublin which now exceeds 1.5 million.

The health of games and every other metric is in inverse proportion to population growth. Have you been in Dublin recently? Close to half the population is non Irish. State figure is 25% so other urban centres be same soon. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3703 - 12/09/2025 23:00:49 2635930 Link 0 |

GAA thrives on communities. That aspect of GAA is being rapidly lost in Dublin. There are once strong clubs in working class parts of the county that are struggling to survive at underage and that is being reflected now in adult grades. Where are O'Toole's? Once one of the powerhouses of hurling in the city. Lots of other examples. People slag the middle class "super clubs" but they survive because they are based in stable communities which have not yet experienced what is coming. Not optimistic at all.
