Have Ballymahon/Kenagh lost many players from last year? I think Clonguish have a good amount of their team underage from last year......if not the full team.

Clonguish have 2 lads from last years starting 15 overage this year. Next year there will only be 1 overage from this years team. From talking to my mate from Killoe, he said when they were well beaten by Clonguish in first game they knew they wouldn't be no where near winning it, so rested most of their senior panel against Ballymahon/Kenagh for the Leinster game.

Almost all of both teams are underage again I think both teams may have lost two players but will both still be very strong. A shame that the U21 A championship could only manage 4 teams really it takes the weight away from it Clonbonnyrabbitt (Longford) - Posts: 91 - 28/10/2025 11:35:56 2641989 Link 0 |

Perhaps.... however if there were 6 or 8 teams in the A championship, would there be a different name on the title??? Doubt it. A lot of teams have obviously jumped out of the A championship as they know they won't win it. backtoback2 (Longford) - Posts: 57 - 28/10/2025 16:02:35 2642043 Link 0 |

The closest team to beating this Clonguish team at minor was a Colmcille/Dromard/Ballymore amalgamation and even then, they were beaten by 30 points in a minor final. They are not amalgamated at under 21. I don't know why Western Gaels are in the A. Maybe they had to seeing as they made the Minor A final this year. It's incredible though how big towns like Longford with Slashers and Granard are not in the A and that Ballymahon have to amalgamate to make a team.

Are Slashers looking for a new manager. I was told last night Conor Clarke stood down, but my source isn't 100%. Hearing Cashel are looking for one as well. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1426 - 29/10/2025 07:41:53 2642095 Link 0 |

I suppose we are all hanging on waiting for the white smoke in Newtown when the new supremo will be appointed. All other vacancies are irrelevant B&G (Longford) - Posts: 411 - 29/10/2025 10:34:13 2642107 Link 0 |

Has there ever been a team who was beaten deservedly in the county quarter final and then county semi final to create so much chatter about them. Clonguish this Clonguish that. Killoe and Colmcille were rightly in the final with Abbey having a down year, I would have all three of those teams ahead of Clonguish for next year no matter what "supremo" arrives in Newtown

There was a lot of noise coming from Rathcline this year as well for some reason. And they have nothing coming through judging by the fact they have to join with Grattans....and Grattans providing the more talented players on those teams! The only clubs that should be talking (and it sickens me to say it) is Killoe and Clonguish. Afterall, Killoe won Senior and Junior, Clonguish Leader Cup and Minor and probably under 21. Colmcille have nothing to talk about....second year in a row went home with nothing!! Apart from the 'We beat Clonguish' trophy!! Killoe will be winning the next few Senior Championships until this Clonguish come of age. But we have seen in the past Granard at Minor and Dromard at under 21 dominated and won very little at Senior.

Killoe the team to beat next year and for a few years after as well. Colmcille the bridesmaids in all senior comps this year, twice to Clonguish and once to Killoe. They will be there or thereabouts next year, but I don't think they will win it. Rathcline all talk but no action from them. They beat an injury hit Abbey team and were found out by Killoe and Clonguish. One man team. Clonguish depending on far too many young lads. You'll never win anything with kids. Mullinalaghta and Dromard are ageing. Abbey won't be near it next year, if Frankie is gone. Granard and Carrick are also runs. Slashers will be playing Intermediate in 2027 along with Ardagh/Moydow. I think I'm missing one club, haven't the time to do a check!! Oddball (Roscommon) - Posts: 986 - 29/10/2025 18:48:08 2642181 Link 0 |

Colmcille have lots of experienced players and they're going to be very hard to beat. Killoe have the best mixture with the likes of Mickey Quinn, Mimnagh, Paddy Kieran, Ryan Moffett, The Hugheses and then younger lads in Darren Moffett, Gavin Farrelly, the 2 Morans. Clonguish have only 2 or 3 players above the age of 23/24 and will need at least 2/3 more years to get themselves seasoned enough. Winning leagues is nothing compared to championships

Best of luck to Killoe, Ardagh Moydow and Killashee this weekend. Anyone with a bit of decency will always shout for the Longford winners whoever they are, when it comes to Leinster club. Killashee should fancy their chances and could do well in the junior championship if they can get their form going again. Hard to see either Killoe or Ardagh Moydow getting a result, but you never know. Longford clubs have a dismal record of late in Leinster. We got spoiled with the 2010's. I'm predicting 2 out of 3 for Longford clubs at the weekend, with Killoe and Killashee coming through their games. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1426 - 31/10/2025 14:27:33 2642400 Link 1 |

Killoe will have no complaints about that result today. Strong first half, but outplayed in the second half and better team won. Great year regardless. Hard luck to Ardagh Moydow and well done Killashee. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 638 - 02/11/2025 19:39:03 2642703 Link 0 |
