Mike Solan is set to become the new Offaly senior football manager on a three-year term.

Offaly GAA has confirmed that Solan will be proposed for ratification at the September County Board meeting and will be joined by coaches/selectors Joe Keane and Nigel Dunne.

The remainder of the management team will be appointed in the coming weeks.

Solan previously served as a coach with the Mayo U21s in 2015 before taking over as manager later that year. He guided Mayo to the All-Ireland U21 title in 2016, as well as two Connacht titles in 2016 and 2018, and remained in the role until 2020.

He subsequently spent two seasons as assistant manager to Andy Moran with Leitrim before taking charge of Longford. Solan managed Longford for the past two seasons and guided them to promotion this year.

Keane previously worked alongside Solan as head coach of the Mayo U21 team in 2016 and 2017 before joining Stephen Rochford's Mayo senior management team.

He also spent seven seasons as head coach with Sligo under Paul Taylor and Tony McEntee before joining Solan's Longford management team for the 2025 season.

Former Offaly footballer Dunne will also form part of the new management team. He represented the county at senior level for more than 15 years before moving into coaching.

Dunne was head coach of the Offaly minors when they won their first Leinster Championship in 36 years in 2025 and took charge as head coach of the county U20 footballers in 2026. He is also currently senior manager of his home club, Shamrocks.

Solan will succeed joint-managers Declan Kelly and Mickey Harte, who stepped down following the conclusion of Offaly's 2026 campaign.
